Alt-J at Mercury Lounge in May (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
Alt-J

Fueled by their Mercury Prize win this year, UK group Alt-J have had a pretty stellar year, having gone from playing a half-full Mercury Lounge back in May to sell-out Bowery Ballroom show in September. The band have just announced their biggest North American tour yet, including a stop in NYC at Webster Hall on March 22. Tickets to that show go on sale Friday (12/7) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Thursday (12/6) at noon.

All Alt-J tour dates are listed below, along with a Bowery Presents Live video of the band performing an acoustic version of "Matilda" plus the Betatraxx remix of "Fitzpleasure."

How do Ctrl-Alt-Del this shit?

Posted by Anonymous | December 3, 2012 6:11 PM

I dunno, I haven't really listened to them too much, but my initial impression was that, of those handful of bands that were on every single best-of-2012 list recently, this was the only one that at least sounded interesting.

Interesting as in, not straightforward bland electro-pop.

Regrettably gave em a try after seeing them on lots of best-of lists. Regrettable.

Well, 5:48, for once Pitchfork got it right!

meh

I agree @2:02. I think it's a good record, not stellar, and it's refreshing not to hear some guy and girl from Brooklyn with a drum machine making electronic pop. Suck a dick.

Will sell out quickly, a 2nd night will be added since there's a huge gap after it and Bowery Presents loves scalping their own tickets.

wow, I am going to buy a ticket asap because they will sell out fast! in fact I'll buy 2 in case I lose one.
