Sometimes, it's perfectly OK to wear your influences proudly. Case and point, Attic who welcome their new LP, The Invocation, via Van Records this week. The German band love the riffy falsetto stylings of King Diamond/Mercyful Fate and aren't afraid to borrow the hidden pop-sensiblity that lay beneath those classics either. Stream all of The Invocation below.

So far the only live dates are scheduled for the band's home country. Those are listed below along with the album stream.

Saturday, March 9, 2013 German Swordbrothers 2013 Lünen, Germany
Friday, April 19, 2013 Keep It True XVI 2013 Lauda-Königshofen

The vocals are a little too close for me.. more of a rip off than a tribute.

4:57: Because they accidently took a wrong turn on their tour van and wound up in Bed Stuy the other day. Luckily, the locals were quite friendly and directed them out of harm's way.

^hate to say it, but if so, its for the best-they sounded roughly 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than when they were last in ny.
