Jane's Addiction

Jane's Addiction are set to ring in the new year at Atlantic City's House of Blues tonight, and to warm up for that they came to NYC on Saturday (12/29) for a show at Terminal 5. They played a bit off of their late-period/reunion albums, but most of the set was split pretty evenly between the classic early albums with songs like "Mountain Song, "Jane Says," "Been Caught Stealing," and many others. During the set, Perry Farrell also brought out firefighters who aided in Hurricane Sandy recovery that he knew from his high school in Queens, where he grew up, and he gave a speech about being proud of the way New Yorkers handled the hurricane.

A video of Perry giving that speech after playing "Ted, Just Admit It...," plus some other videos, the setlist, and more pictures from the show below...

Awful band

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 12:15 PM

In 1991 they were the baddest band on the planet... in 2012 they are just bad

Eric A knew when to get out.

All anyone has to do is listen to Navarro talk for 30 seconds and you would be turned away for eternity. .

Perry is still cool though.

Are these guys performing with their shirts off to fool people into thinking that they're still in their twenties or something? Anything to distract from the fact that they've been irrelevant for more than twenty years, huh? Gross ass leathery old men torsos? Yuck, who the fuck wants to see that nasty shit? Next time put some clothes on, Dads. I would say that you guys are embarrassing yourselves, but let's be honest; if you possessed an ounce of shame, you guys wouldn't be beating that dead horse that you've turned Jane's Addiction into, would you?

somebody tell this rock star assholes that they're too old to dress like that.

Posted by son | December 31, 2012 2:29 PM

When the movie bio comes out Willem Dafoe should play Perry.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 3:23 PM

Perry is nothing without the WEED.

2:22- The idea that youth=relevance is so laughable that it doesn't even warrant discussion.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 3:48 PM

Perkins got himself a nice set of hairplugs

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 3:50 PM

i'll give anyone a ten spot if you can find a picture of dave navarro with a shirt on

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 4:23 PM

3:48 The idea that relevance doesn't equal relevance is so laughable that it doesn't even warrant discussion.

They're an old band playing the old hits. Hardly relevant.

These guys still kick it, there music still to this day is great. Wish they would get back with Eric Avery so they could write some more songs, all songs are bass line driven with Navaro noodling, plus A one of a kind front man = Janes

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 5:40 PM

Nothing says cool like a shitless 50 yr old twat smoking a joint on stage.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2012 8:37 PM

Always a terrible band aside from the catchy stealing song. Kudos to bringing the labia girl out onstage, though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 11:49 AM

where can a dude get a pair of those sweet leather pants? i mean, they don't make you look stupid at all.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 5:10 PM

5:40 - "These guys still kick it" - HAHAHA - save this one for competition for best comment of '13. Hopefully 10 Corganites won't kick you out of position.

I may not know much about "Jane's Addiction" but I could write encyclopedias about "Hummus Addiction".

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 6:01 PM

^ is there a way to snort pure Phyto-Nutrients?

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 6:42 PM

I have been working on a method of extracting numerous phyto-nutrient compounds that are locked within the chickpea, and although I have reached 60% purity, I have found that main-lining hummus is way to addictive and found myself checking into H.A. (hummus anonymous) after a few weeks of using.

Take my advice fellow hummus eaters, stick to the pita triangles and baby carrots.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 6:50 PM

Some of the greatest art and music is from hummus addicts...

Take Animal collective or Dan Deacon for example... Them dudes be dipping into robust platters a minimum of 3 times per week!

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 7:02 PM

5:07- They didn't just play the old songs, or was that hard for you to comprehend?

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 11:21 PM

2:22- you sound like an entitled little quim.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2013 11:22 PM

fireman in red shirt f***ng hot

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2013 9:18 AM

they are just not macho enough for me. maybe they could wave some guns around or something.

Posted by BRUNO | January 2, 2013 9:19 AM

how come the bass player has his shirt on?

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2013 9:19 AM

Tab the Band was pretty excellent at this show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2013 12:10 PM

I can't believe you hipsters. Were we really at the same show??

Say what you want about the old men, they can fucking play. I know you guys prefer a band with a more Brooklyn image like Tab the Band, but honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how they even got that gig. Their guitarist was DEFINITELY not on par with Dave Navarro and the band as a whole was pretty awkward. I'm thinking someone's Daddy wrote a big check.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2013 4:34 PM

4:34- Of course they weren't at the show. Jane's Addiction still put on an amazing performance. There is nothing sad about them at all.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 10:04 AM

I saw Janes Addiction co headline with Nine Inch Nails a few summers ago I had a very tough time sitting through Jane's set.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 10:31 AM

Disappointed. I went to hear some porno for pyros songs....

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 10:42 AM

Navarro cannot get enough tattoos and Perry cannot get skinny enough to make us forget they have been playing the same two albums for 20+ years. The least hardest working and most successful band in Rock n Roll.

Eric A just rolled over in his alive-grave
