Alt-J at Glasslands, 8/7/2012 (more by Toby Tenenbaum)
Alt-J

Rami Haykal and Jake Rosenthal started Popgun Booking back in 2008 and in a very short amount of time became prominent tastemakers, with their homebase of Glasslands becoming one of the first stops for any new hyped band (Django Django, Savages, Palma Violets to names some recent UK ones). They also have (and in some cases still do) book shows at Cameo, Irving Plaza, Santos, Knitting Factory and more. Jake and Rami gave us a collaborative list of Popgun's favorite LPs of 2012. Check it out below.

---

Popgun Booking's Top 10 LPs of 2012
Alt-J - An Awesome Wave

Trust - TRST

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Trouble
Lower Dens - Nootropics

Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory

Check out Top 10 LP lists from Josh Moore and Johnny Beach of Bowery Presents.

No Grimes? Haters.

A booking agency's Top 10 is a joke - of course they have to pander to their clientele no matter what they really think.

Who are all these guys?

I swear, all these people who are giving out their "10 best of 2012" lists, I've heard of maybe 40% of them. And I view this blog a lot.

inclusion of DIIV

=

credibility GONE. it's that simple. it's like if you're on a first date with someone and they tell you they like hootie. you might as well pretend to go to the bathroom and then sneak out the back door.

Glasslands is run by/like douchebags and that place can't close soon enough. When will these people get out of Brooklyn?

best list ever

Actually they are not pandering to their clients. And Disappears kicks your asses, sulkies.

4:48 - Your grammar sucks.

i dont even listen to diiv but it's pretty funny anyone actually thinks they're pandering to their clients. one of the reasons diiv blew up is they were playing tons of popgun shows and getting great opening slots. you could argue popgun (and obviously PR connections etc) blew up diiv.

Who is this Donovan?

thanks popgun PR minion. you could also argue that your comment has no truth or validity because you're standing up for a soulless booking company that can only book on trends and $$$

I'm glad to see Rumors is finally getting a vinyl reissue. I've been looking for a used copy forever but haven't been able to track one down.
