Von / Magic is Kuntmaster @ Saint Vitus, 12/11/2012

The Venien version of black metal greats Von played their first ever East Coast show at Saint Vitus on Tuesday (12/11), joined by experimental performance art troupe Magic is Kuntmaster and promising new black metal crew Anicon. Pictures from the show adorn this post, along with video of the bulk of their sets.
While a Von show is easily met with skepticism considering the band's early years and the lack of original personnel, Venien's crew was good. Unfortunately, as with any sort of band that lives in the shadows only to emerge later, the reality of the band could never live up to the legend. The show lacked the dark, rawness that could only be captured in those early primitive demos... but then again could anything possibly top that? Some things, maybe, should be left in shroud.
The support was pretty convincing though. The most fascinating moments of the evening came from Magic is Kuntmaster, whose stage show consisted of noise and a performance piece that must be seen to be believed. Watch that below... unmissable. Anicon, which featured Lev from Krallice and Own from Trenchgrinder, were positively impressive in their debut outing.
More pictures and some video from Saint Vitus is below.

2:50 we make fun of these people because they look ridiculous. If they stopped getting up on stage being ridiculous, we'd stop making fun of them. It's not that complicated.

Wow...
so all it takes these days is two dumb girls, some fake blood/ guts, some odd videos playing and then some NOISE from a computer.
Damn live music has gone to shit when a band like that even exists.

What does "Shut In" mean?
Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2012 5:24 PM
I happen to know "first-hand" that Mr. Venien is the original founder of the band "Von".

5 :24, shut in is an arcaic term meaning they don't leave the house. Here is an example of how it would be used in a sentence:
"I was shut in; I just sat in my room reading BV articles and commenting on them about how pathetic everyone is."

Thank you, sir, for taking the time to explain this. It was quite confusing to an average BV bystander reader such as myself.

Sometimes I complain about the lack of showmanship with indie bands. If this is the alternative, I'm not going to complain any more.

No, you're not right, idiot troll hipster

I'm glad to see Rumors is finally getting a vinyl reissue. I've been looking for a used copy forever but haven't been able to track one down.
