Alabama Shakes @ T5, Oct. 2013 (more by Tracy Allison)
Alabama Shakes

What a run Alabama Shakes have had, going from playing tiny clubs in NYC to headlining Terminal 5 in less than a year. (And it couldn't have happened to a nicer band.) What's next for them? Being the musical guests on Saturday Night Live which will happen on February 16 with host Christolph Waltz (so good in Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained).

Their tour schedule is open for a bit, maybe they'll fit in a NYC show while here? From March on, though, Alabama Shakes will stay busy on the road and updated dates are below.

No new SNL this week but Justin Bieber pulls double duty as host and musical guest on February 9.

Sounds like a great show with a genuinely talented actor and band on the same program.

She been eatin' them Alabama cakes

Waltz is not going to do well, he could barely speak during his speech at the gg's or whatever award show that was

They have to play NYC. Come on, guys. Add the date. And with Michael Kiwanuka as an opener, this tour not coming to NY will really really suck.

7:00- real smooth pretending you don't know what awards show that was. Its okay to admit you watched it

10:24, my wife watched while I did work so I caught pieces of it, like Waltz's speech - I just wasn't sure if it was the gg's or the sag's because I had been seeing a lot of commercials for the sag's as well

This band sucks & doesn't belong on BV. Except that their PR people feel differently. They need to disappear into the same crap classic rock revival niche that grace potter lives in and leave this blog.

I can’t wait to see Alabama Shakes on SNL next weekend and I think they’ll be great. On top of that, Christoph Waltz, who was one of my favorite characters from Django Unchained, will be hosting. I am sure I’ll get off of work at DISH with enough time to see them all perform. My roommates don’t care for SNL, so before I got the DISH Hopper whole-home DVR, they would wait for me to finish. Now that we have one, it gives us the ability to watch up to four programs at the same time. While I’m watching SNL in the living room, my roommates usually watch their shows in their rooms. It’s nice knowing we aren’t interrupting each other’s shows.
