Bettye LaVette at Joe’s Pub – 1/12/13
Soul legend Bettye LaVette, whose first single came out 50 years ago, came to NYC for two shows this past weekend, including one at City Winery on Friday (1/11) and another at Joe’s Pub on Saturday (1/12). Pictures from the Joe’s Pub show are in this post. Included is a shot of the written setlist, though she didn’t play everything on it, and added in a cover of The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me.”
She has other upcoming shows and will be back in NYC to open for The Blind Boys of Alabama when they play Town Hall on May 17. Tickets for that show are still available.
