Outside World

Chicago's Outside World make hooky, anthemic janglepop in the tradition of Tommy Keene, The Barracudas and The dB's, the latter of whom they opened for in their hometown. (More connections: bassist Hazel Rigby is daughter of dB's drummer Will Rigby.) The band (which features former Brain Idea frontman Ben Scott) have put out two cassette in the last year and you can stream most the songs from them below.

Outside World are heading out on tour with two NYC stops: on January 27 at Cake Shop (who calls them "our favorite new band") with Butter the Children (ex-Sweet Bulbs); and January 28 at Death by Audio with The Doozies.

All tour dates are listed below along with song streams.

Hanging out in a graveyard. Drinking beers. Taking intentionally crappy photos. Whoa. These guys are so edgy.

If they sound like the dbs, why do they look like a witch house band? Also, remember witch house?
