Green Day

As mentioned, Green Day cancelled a bunch of tour dates due to Billie Joe Armstrong going to rehab, including their Brooklyn show which would have happened on January 16 at Barclays Center with Best Coast. The band have now rescheduled those dates to take place later this year, and they're currently set to play Barclays Center on April 7. It's not clear if Best Coast is still on the tour. Tickets for the newly scheduled Barclays Center show are on sale now and all tickets purchased for the 1/16 show will be honored.

So the only rescheduled the arena shows and not the ones at small venues?

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:34 PM

I think they cancelled the small shows months ago.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:37 PM

Green day will never fill Barclays ever...

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:39 PM

A couple of years ago green Day almost sold out Giants Stadium

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:41 PM

Eh this band works better in a smaller venue anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:41 PM

well they've sold more tickets than the smashing pumpkins did.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:43 PM

they played the whole drug abuse thing and onstage meltdown well
now they have the cover story, but with three awful new records, not sure they can fill that arena either

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:44 PM

Green Day are now a band people see to hear their 90s stuff I don't think anyone cares about their awful new albums.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 1:45 PM

I would go see the two shows I saw them with Tilt back in 94 over and over again!!!

City Gardens was epic and Legigh University with Weston was stellar!!!

"Green Day are now a band people see to hear their 90s stuff I don't think anyone cares about their awful new albums."

The only tickets available are in the sidelines now and, yes, people care about their 00's releases (hence the two grammy winning albums and big tours they did to support those records).

They're a great live band I'll give them that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 2:29 PM

their setlist at irving plaza was pretty great but I doubt it will be that good in an arena show

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 2:34 PM

last proper tour they played two nights at MSG! They will have no problem filling one at Barclays.

Punk at it's finest.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 2:47 PM

i liked Nimrod

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 2:50 PM

"Punk at it's finest."

I see what you did there. That's funny.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 2:54 PM

Punk died around 79-80. These guys are mall-punk poser pansies. Also - rehab is for lameass quitters!

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 3:00 PM

Punk never even existed it was only your mind playing tricks on you.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 3:07 PM

3:00

Damn, good one.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 3:07 PM

The employees at Hot Topic at the mall are way stoked!

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 3:21 PM

If Green Day released Dookie today Pitchfork would probably hype it the most.

Bitter old man I take it?

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 4:05 PM

People have been going to Green Day shows for the "old stuff" for 15 years now.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 4:29 PM

Green Day probably hasn't sold out Barclay's bc people know they have been canceling shows left and right. They are one of the best live acts you will ever see. I've seen them in small venues "Bowery" and "Irving Plaza" and "Webster Hall" and huge venues like MSG and they are able to always connect with the audience. Call them whatever you like, my bet is they will be headlining one day of Coachella.

^My bet is that the few friends you have all think you are as dumb as the people here reading your comment at 4:33

They are a great POP band, no mistake about it. Their three new CD's have some catchy tunes and they always put on a great live show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 4:41 PM

"They are one of the best live acts you will ever see." That's hard to believe. They don't have any good songs and the singer is a jackass. As for Coachella, plenty of lame bands play there. So what.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 5:09 PM

Use brains idiots; this band sucks!

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 5:42 PM

anon 405 Bitter? Ha ha, not really. I just think it's a joke to call bands like them "punk". What is punk about them? More like power pop. I can't stand them but at least they rock out which is more than I can say about a majority of the lameass, boring indie acts these days.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 6:24 PM

Calling GD punk has to be the silliest thing I've ever heard. They're multi-millionaires who parlayed a punk affectation into a money making machine that is the absolute antithesis of punk rock. Worse yet their records from the last ten years suck.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2013 8:08 PM

Green Day make catchy pop songs and that's all they've ever done really.

What's even more lameass and boring is still making posts/statements about what is/isn't "punk" in 2013.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 10:25 AM

Who cares if they are punk or not...it is a band playing music. Go if you like them don't if you don't!

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 1:02 PM

Green Day is about as punk as Justin Bieber is hip-hop.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 7:22 PM

Who claimed Justin Bieber was hip hop?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 7:28 PM

People have been arguing about Green Day being punk for like 20 years isn't it getting old?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 7:34 PM

I heard direct from Billy Joe that the original name of their band was gonna be "Hummus Day".

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2013 8:29 PM

It was really a good news for all of us.I am eagerly waiting for that time. Thanks for sharing.Thanks.

Nice dude. Nobody fucking cares about your dumbass opinion. If you don't pay to go to this festival, none of us will be any worse for wear.

saw the show last night at the Barclays - It was sold out and the show was amazing. They sound incredible live - not like some of those studio groups that can't sing on key or play the right notes. Bring up audience members to sing a verse and then send them back to the crowd via stage dive was awesome. Great to see they are back touring. Well done my friends.

If you go see GD you are only enabling bad behavior.

Your choice.
