Ian Svenonius w/ The Make-Up (right) at ATP NYC 2012 (more by Erik Erikson)
The Make-Up

Ian Svenonius, who has fronted a number of bands including The Nation of Ulysses, The Make-Up (who reunited for a few shows last year, including ATP NYC), Weird War, and most recently, Chain and the Gang, just released the followup to his 2007 book, The Psychic Soveit, this month with his new book, Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock 'n' Roll Group: a How-To Guide. According to Exclaim, the book is a tongue-in-cheek survival guide for being in a band that "doubles as a warning device, a philosophical text, an exercise in terror, an aerobics manual, and a colouring book." You can watch a trailer video for the book which Ian made with his ex-Weird War bandmate Alex Minoff, below.

Ian will be supporting the release with a book tour which includes two appearances in NYC, one on January 25 at the Gallery at Le Poisson Rouge, and another at WORD Bookstore on January 28 in Brooklyn (126 Franklin St). Both events are free.

A list of all book tour dates and that video below...

it is, and it's awesome -- great chapter where he interviews the spirit of Brian Jones.
