Jessie Ware @ Bowery Ballroom, 1/17/2013
Jessie Ware

After a tiny club show at The Box in December and a four-song acoustic set at Highline earlier this week, rising UK singer Jessie Ware played what you could call her first proper NYC show last night (1/17) at Bowery Ballroom with openers Faye and Rochelle Jordan and pictures from that show are in this post. If you went, what did you think?

Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky has expressed interest in having Ware appear on his next album. "I knew about her since last summer. I'm working with her, I'm going to work with her. I want to bad," Rocky told the BBC. I don't care about her being a star, I just think she has a beautiful voice and a lot of talent. I haven't got the chance or honour to meet her yet - I just love her art." You may remember Florence Welch appears on his debut, Long.Live.A$AP which is out this week and SPIN just gave "Worst New Music."

i gave my ticket to a friend who reported back , that knuckleheads with camera phones were out full force, Jessie Ware was amazing and the crowd was enthusiastic.

jessie was having a great time and the crowd responded as such, with their iphones, to prove that they were there.

Easily one of the best shows I have been to in a while. Crowd was so engaged and she was definitely feeling it. Kudos to the guy with the flowers!!

She has a nice voice and the production is good, but I find her songs a little boring. Maybe I just need to catch her live, because everyone seems to be going nuts over her. Or, my suspicions are correct that this is just glorified elevator music. Hmmm...

This is the time of year where BV starts overhyping these type of acts. Why? So these acts will play a BV sxsw show sponsored by a lame liquor c. The acts are usually flash-in-pan

Just heard Jessie on one of the late night talking heads. Maybe Fallon? She was good enough to make me head over to Youtube and find more.
