My Bloody Valentine

My Bloody Valentine were saying they'd have a new album out by the end of 2012, which didn't end up happening but on December 24, they posted a facebook message saying that they'd finished mastering the new album. Now, at a show the band were playing in London tonight (1/27), Kevin Shields told the crowd that to be expecting the album in "two to three days" (via The Line of Best Fit).

One member of the crowd tweeted "Kevin Shields has just told the crowd at an MBV warm-up show to expect a new My Bloody Valentine album in "two to three days." DAYS." and another tweeted "At My Bloody Valentine in Brixton. Kevin Shields said from the stage the new album 'might be out in two our three days'."

They also performed a new song at the show, which you can watch a video of below, along with a video of Kevin saying the album will be out in two to three days. No US dates are scheduled for MBV yet, but all remaining international dates are listed below...

First on BV. I'm trying to get this comment in before anyone else, but I have nothing hateful to say. Sorry.

To think that if they had put this out some time in the 90s, I would have actually bought a physical copy.

We ALL would have. That would have been the only way to get it. I think that was also before modern plumbing. Yes, it was.

if you watch the video of it someone basically heckles them "whens the album out?" and he says "2-3 days" .. its not like he just said "new album in 2-3 days"

this new mbv lp will feature NO guitars. pure genius.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2013 3:59 AM

Face it, we all can't wait to hear it but are all skeptical. I'm always up for decent guitar based rock. Doubt the 2-3 days. Sounds like he was just messin' with a fan.

Brooklyn Vegan vs. Stereogum:

The comments on the analogous post on Stereogum are devoid of snark. You will fine 20 or so comments from music enthusiasts who cannot wait to hear the new material. BV readers, on the other hand, never seem to have anything to say about the music itself.

i for one find the music of my bloody valentine enumerating & effusive, a veritible cornucopia of panoply. it embiggens the spirit while eschewing the scurrilous
