P. Courts

As I noted in my review of Parquet Courts' record-release show last week, there was a prominent video crew there filming the band. Turns out they were there making a promo clip for "Borrowed Time," the "emphasis track" from the band's debut album. You can watch the sweaty, moshy good time mess below.

Parquet Courts are currently in the Pacific Northwest wrapping up a tour out there (Seattle tomorrow, 1/19) but they've announced their next hometown show which happens February 2 at 285 Kent with Philadelphia's Purling Hiss. $10 at the door.

"Borrowed Time" video below.

Jesus is BV fucking one of these guys? Their music does not explain why there is at least one post about them every day

i was gonna say love love love this band but that video is just bad/dumb/cheap/unworthy/shitty/insultingly shitty

hi dustin. hi katie

I wonder who's behind this band ? CT staff attend their shows, they got on P4K and get posted everyday. Still they are total randos in the scene. The music's awesome, but there's some major force pushing this! #conspiracytheory

The Rakes anyone?

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2013 9:15 PM

Why are you all such negative elitist assholes?

Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2013 9:55 PM

They have been around for a couple of years. Not a conspiracy.

Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2013 12:13 AM

Not going to lie: their album is awesome and went pretty much unnoticed on year-ends. Not sure how that translates into some type of conspiracy for coverage.

Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2013 8:53 AM

you might say they "conspired" to make a good album that people would like

The camera crew really ruined the show for me. They sounded great but couldn't enjoy myself with a girl holding a camera with spotlight to the singers face.

This "moshy goodtime mess" only erupted when spotlights were near. Felt very phony. I thought I was at a show not a video shoot

These guys aren't for real

5:31 & 8:10 - What's Your Rupture and a great publicist is helping to create all this sudden hype.

Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2013 5:33 PM

They're a good band who put out a good record that is finally getting the attention it deserves. Sure, the camera crew sucked at that show, but it was a really good show anyway I'm psyched for these guys!

this is fucking terrible. no need for a witty comment or a shitty joke. this is just actually so fucking bad.

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2013 2:09 PM

boring as a flaccid dick

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2013 2:34 PM

5:31, 8:10 and 5:33, the bassist works in a managerial position at Vice, too, so obviously that's working for their benefit and helping them control the press in their favor.

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2013 2:38 PM

how about as a qualifier of sucking, you name some component of their (apparent) suckiness and then point out someone worth listening to, if these guys are so fucking bad.

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2013 7:06 PM

Not authentic. Trying too hard. An affectation.
Boring as shit. Not pleasing to my ear canals.
