The View

Scottish band The View caused a bit of a stir in 2007 with their single "Wasted Little DJs" and for being somewhat enfant terribles (they were all in high school at the time). Since then, they've released four albums, including last year's Cheeky for a Reason and you can stream a few tracks from that below.

All four of their albums were Top 20 hits in the UK, but America hasn't paid much attention (or maybe it's the other way around). That hasn't detered them adn the band will be going on a fairly extensive North American tour which includes two shows in NYC: April 6 at Knitting Factory and April 7 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets to both Knit and Bowery go on sale Friday (2/1) at noon, with an AmEx presale happening for the Bowery show today (1/31) at noon.

All tour dates are listed below.

Not that The View have ignored America- they've been denied visas everytime they've tried. I would buy tickets unless they're fully refundable.

Sounds very manufactured. No passion. I'd rather listen to Meatloaf.

Not every time, 10:43am. I remember seeing them at Mercury lounge.

I wrote an essay about how and why the View were denied P visas to come play in the US. This should answer a lotta questions about why these cats didn't make it.

"Scottish indie rock quartet the View have cancelled an upcoming tour of the United States, citing visa application troubles.
In August of 2006, lead singer/guitarist Kyle Falconer was arrested following a performance at Dundee University. The singer admitted to having 2.595 grams (0.1 oz) of cocaine, an amount carrying a street value of £150.
Earlier this year, Falconer appeared in Dundee Sheriff's Court where he pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug. His lawyer begged for an absolute discharge, citing that a drug conviction would make it difficult for the singer and his group to fulfill touring commitments in the United States. The request was denied and Mr. Falconer was convicted and given a £1,000 fine."
