Breeders sold out by 12:01?????

I call BS on that

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:03 PM

Put two Breeders tickets in my cart at noon and immediately got an error. Hopefully they add a second show in the area, preferably at Maxwell's.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:03 PM

Breeders sold out in less than a minute.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:03 PM

No second show will be added. Sorry. Yes sold out within 30 seconds. What did you expect. Got my 2.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:04 PM

I was on the second Breeders tickets went on sale and couldn't get them.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:05 PM

Breeders sold out in 30 seconds? How is that possible?

somethings fishy in Gawanus

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:05 PM

At least there are plenty of She & Him tickets to be had

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:05 PM

Crash. I'm the last splash!

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:05 PM

Todd-O-Phonic will come to the rescue and add a show at Maxwell's. Brooklyn is a scary place to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:05 PM

Proof that tickets were actually available.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:08 PM

I got 4 tix. Maybe you shouldn't have waited until 12:01.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:08 PM

No Breeders show at Maxwells. This is the only show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:09 PM

you guys are really surprised that the breeders show sold out instantly? the place holds 350 people and it's the 20th anniversary show of their best album (shut up pod) with the original lineup. they could've sold out t5 with this, granted not nearly as quickly.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:10 PM

I was mildly interested. I already saw them back when the 2 Deals were still hot. Now? No great loss.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:10 PM

Breeders were awful live. Don't waste your time and/or money.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:11 PM

I got 4 Breeders tix too... Maybe they'll add more shows?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:11 PM

12:08 thinks that people try once and never refresh the page. Silly rabbit. Nah, mean rabbit. No use for mean rabbit. B'bye.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:12 PM

For those who did not get Breeders tickets, your anger should be at The Bell House for allowing people to buy up to 4 tickets. They knew this would be a super in demand show. They should have made the limit at 2 per person.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:16 PM

breeders were actually really great live. those shows with them and sonic youth at the academy were brilliant.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:16 PM

I'm not going to be shocked when they play a free show at the Williamsburg waterfront over the summer.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:17 PM

Well, of course they were available. But the typical NYC scalper feeding frenzy scooped them all up. Buying tickets in this town is a real bastard sometimes.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:22 PM

and like other super hot shows they have done the Bell House should have made it box office only.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:22 PM

or Celebrate Brooklyn in Prospect Park

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:22 PM

by allowing people to buy 4 tickets they were/are practically guaranteeing people bought 2 for themselves and 2 to resell.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:23 PM

yea they shouldn't have had a 4-ticket limit (i was gonna buy 2 but bought 4 when i saw that).

and who cares if they play a free show in some park - this is gonna be a sweaty sex mess. bell house is a great venue for this show, like a dream come true

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:24 PM

No worries, they'll add 1 or 2 more shows at Webster Hall.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:24 PM

believe me they will playing the shot out of this album all year long.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:26 PM

even if they add more shows, i'd be buying a bell house ticket from some craigslist ass - THIS is the show. 300 person sweatbox in brooklyn going crazy for the breeders. fuck the manhattan crowd. this is so great.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:28 PM

I pulled Breeders tickets at 2 seconds passed 12pm. You have to be quick with TicketWeb.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:28 PM

to the people who bought 4 tickets with the intention of selling 2 of them... it's really sad that you don't have two friends who you'd want to enjoy a show like this with. have a nice life

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:29 PM

"(i was gonna buy 2 but bought 4 when i saw that)." translates to "I am a complete f*cking Do*chbag opportunistic A*hole, and I'd like to let everyone on here know that."

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:33 PM

Wouldn't finding out immediately that there are zero tickets available at 12:01 be preferable to being stuck in Ticketweb's waiting room hell and waiting 20 minutes to find out that they were all sold out at 12:01?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:33 PM

wipe that tear from your eye, you're unattractive when you cry

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:33 PM

Breeders were god awful live when they played the Bowery a few times in the early/mid 2000's.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:34 PM

Hello Vegan people of Brooklyn,
I name Boris. I have 3 tickets for Bell House Breeders for sale. Each 75 dollar. You write me at BorisY gmail if want.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:37 PM

Awesome sweaty sex box of a show? Maybe. Awful lame lethargic money grab re-tread of 20 year old album? possibly. This show (and tour) could go either way. Live , this band has been both great and terrible, so it's a 50/50 shot at best that this show will be the goods.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:38 PM

^At $25 a ticket(without nominal fees), it was worth it to take that chance.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:42 PM

Dear To Boris:

Me fan big of Breeder band. Want me see the showtime please. WIll eat your ticket free. please to write I

When a band intentionally plays a smaller venue (when they absolutely could have sold out a bigger space), how the hell do people throw the term "cash grab" around?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:45 PM

lol @ all the scarves barely amusing anybody with all their BS misleading and/or just plain annoying ticket-related posts

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:53 PM

tickets for vivian girls will be available at the door

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:55 PM

not cash grab for this particular choice of venue or specific show, but cash grab in general for the reuniting aspect and re-releasing of the album in a deluxe anniversary version. Clearly re-releasing their biggest and only real money making album from 20 years ago and reuniting the lineup of said album to tour (including this show) rather than focusing on making new music with the newer lineup can clearly be seen as a possible cash grab. Clearly.

This show, even in it's small size falls under the umbrella of said 'cash grab'.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 12:56 PM

"to the people who bought 4 tickets with the intention of selling 2 of them... it's really sad that you don't have two friends who you'd want to enjoy a show like this with. have a nice life"

not all of us feel the need to roll 4-deep to a show. usually the 2-person crew is fine.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:01 PM

^U fall under the umbrella of mindless twit

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:02 PM

"When a band intentionally plays a smaller venue (when they absolutely could have sold out a bigger space), how the hell do people throw the term "cash grab" around?"

^^^ THIS

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:02 PM

starting your tour with a small instantly sold out club show is better business for the tour in terms of marketing than playing a larger venue.... i.e. falls in line with said cash grab.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:03 PM

Again for the record, those calling THIS show a cash grab are some of the more dumber cretins walking the earth.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:07 PM

@103, dude, what ISN'T a cash grab for you? really, stop.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:07 PM

@1:03,

Better business for the tour? Are you that stupid. The tour was going to be hugely successful no matter where they played and even if they did not do a small warm up show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:12 PM

Hey niave idiots.... they didn't book this show out of the kindness of the hearts to play a small club show for you the fans just because it's cool. This is what;s called a PROMOTIONAL CLUB SHOW folks. It's the first show of a larger bigger tour to supposrt and promote a re-release CD. IT's done on purpose for marketing. CASH GRAB CAS GRAB CASH GRAB you dumb f*ckers!

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:13 PM

If they booked Webster Hall instead of the Bell House there would still be tickets and no one would be writing any of this, so obviously they win by stirring up interest.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:17 PM

"If they booked Webster Hall instead of the Bell House there would still be tickets and no one would be writing any of this, so obviously they win by stirring up interest."

Nope. It would have sold out in 45 more seconds, and you'd all still be crying and claiming cash grab and saying dumb crap.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:21 PM

I remember when I was watching the movie "Tango and Cash" once, and there was the scene where Tango pulled Cash from the line of fire, saving his life.

Total Cash grab.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:54 PM

There was this one time when I was on a quiz show that took place inside of a taxi.

Total Cash Cab.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 1:55 PM

They are adding a bunch more shows. Relax

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 2:04 PM

I won't relax until it actually happens. It's a state of unrelenting agitation for me from here on out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 2:09 PM

scalper boner

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 2:11 PM

where can I find me a breeder?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 2:11 PM

"They are adding a bunch more shows. Relax"

They are adding a bunch more shows at bigger, worse sounding, less intimate places. Relax.

Fixed that for you

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 2:24 PM

cash grab?
i guess you don't work for a living...

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 3:12 PM

1205 She & Him are as lame as it gets.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 3:49 PM

I didn't bother to read through all the comments so maybe this has already been mentioned. But this is a total cash grab.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 4:14 PM

4:14- I see what you did there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 4:24 PM

The Breeders are the worse live band I've ever seen. This is ridiculous

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 6:22 PM

The Breeders are neither the worst nor the best live band I have ever seen.

I have seen them twice: once in 2002, and once in 2009 (I think, mtn battles).

I did not get tickets to this show. I could not have gone anyway, unfortunately.

Maybe they will play the Paramount on Long Island? That would please me.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 6:29 PM

"cash grab?
i guess you don't work for a living..."

i LOL'd

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 7:04 PM

You're Living All Over Me @ T5 >>>>>> Last Splash @ Bell House

No contest

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 7:28 PM

Which of you morons are buying tickets off of Stubhub for $175 a pop?!

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2013 8:43 PM

Yeah, how dare an independent band try to grab some cash in an era where every douche on the internet thinks music isn't worth paying for. Piss off, moron.

Breeders are great live: songs, sound, playing. Have you chumps SEEN what Jim MacPherson can do? Piss off, internet losers.
