As mentioned, The Knife's Shaking the Habitual is out April 9 via Mute. It's the enigmatic Swedish duo's first album in seven years and Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer seem to have made up for the lengthy break by make it a whopper, coming in at nearly 100 minutes! You can check out the tracklist below.

The album's first single, the nearly ten-minute "Full of Fire," is out next week. Clips of the song were accidentally posted on MP3 store Juno earlier this week but were quickly taken down. (We never got to hear it.) The band have announced dates at Primavera Sound and other European festivals this summer but no shows yet for North America. Stay tuned.

If you haven't watched it, the Shaking the Habitual teaser video is below along with the album tracklist (via P4K).

Wow Knife is really on point. I'll take a stab that dates will come soon. This single is sharp sounding and I am sure the other cuts will be just as good. Glad these guys burried the hatchet and are making music.

Maybe they will headline the Pitchfork Festival? They don't have any tour dates in the month of July & Pitchfork was one of the websites that helped expose them to a bunch of people (giving them best new album of 2006 and all). So maybe they will do a short US tour around then. If not then, I don't see them coming here until the Fall.

yeah i'm sure they would headline pitchfork fest just to show their gratitude... idiot

I really hope that they come to NYC for a show that is not the pitchfork ball

Agree, agree and then agree again! Super high expectations. The next 4 months are going to feel so weird and so slow. This album, this precious album..I'm going to sob when I get to hold it in my hands, I'm telling you :D
