Young Chicago-suburb punks The Orwells made a big impression at our CMJ party in October when they came over to NYC and delivered their relentless garage punk tunes, led by an Iggy Pop-inspired frontman who puts his all into it, even when they're playing to a hungover room at noon on a Saturday. So it should be even wilder when they return for a less tired show on March 1 at Santos Party House. Tickets for that show are on sale now. Support is TBA.

Fact check - have the Stone Roses EVER played a gig in the US? I read the 33 1/3 book about them a few years back and I thought it said that they had never performed in the states. If they did, when and where?
