You already (maybe) listened to the song and now you can watch the video to Depeche Mode's somewhat turgid new single "Heaven" from the forthcoming Delta Machine. The clip was directed by Timothy Saccenti (Animal Collective's "Peacebone") and features the band performing in an old church while some weird, possible supernatural phenomena happens around them. Watch it below.

turgid? more like turbid!

So far, this new one sounds as weak as their last one. I hope I'm wrong.

Turgid? Really? Thanks for your opinion Bill, but if you don't mind, I'd like to form my own opinion. Maybe you'd be happier writing reviews.

That said, this video is way stupid.

I've been a DM follower since VIOLATOR. I have to say, damn it, they've still got´╗┐ it. So much power and melodrama. This is what I love about them. That raw electronic moodness.

No.

the song is pretty turgid, come on now. Ain't turgid things what all DM songs are about anyway? Just because you had to look up the word doesn't mean that Bill shouldn't state his opinion. If you can't form your own opinion because Bill did, then maybe you should start Nebraska Vegan for yourself and ignore this fine site.

Soulful and thoughtful. As always they have again evolved that little bit more. Way better than anything on SOTU. No doubt thanks to Flood who mixed the album. Dave Gahans vocals are like a vintage port that just get better and better on each album. A remarkable talent.

I would rather see a new song from the iPods . . . a band with real diversity from track to track!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 7:33 AM

And we all thought Psy would be a one-hit wonder.

A remarkable talent.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 8:48 AM

not turgid at all

I'm old. I've been listening to DM since the beginning. This song has to be the worst song I've ever heard from DM.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 9:20 AM

you can't compare "old" DM with "new" DM
times change and so does the dynamic between members
I wish people would stop comapring what artists did before to what they are doing now

This will definitely be the song I piss to during their upcoming shows. Always need a bore like this to hit the jacks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 10:28 AM

you people and your self-importance.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 10:55 AM

If you don't like this song then don't listen and go enjoy the silence!

Don't hate it but like most recent DM albums it could use some Alan Wilder. Odd choice for a 1st single though.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:05 PM

925 ok, what should we compare it to?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:04 PM

Just downloaded "Heaven" and I'm really excited about it. I want to see what the band has in store for the album later this spring as well- cool to see them putting out new material.
