Yo La Tengo at Maxwell's in 2012 (more by PSquared Photography)
Yo La Tengo

As mentioned, Yo La Tengo are releasing their new album, Fade, on January 15 via Matador, and to celebrate, they'll be doing a few in-store performances in the US before their international tour begins. The first in-store is in NYC on January 14 at Barnes & Noble in Union Square with author Dana Spiotta (Stone Arabia, Eat the Document). The others are all on the west coast and the flyer for those shows is below.

As discussed, Yo La Tengo's tour brings them back to NYC for a show on February 16 at Town Hall. Tickets for that show are still available.

UPDATE: You can now stream Fade in its entirety at Pitchfork's new album streaming service.

An updated list of dates and the video for "Ohm" off of Fade, below...

Malcolm XXX..I belong to the same gym as Ira in Hoboken and I once saw him bench 80 lbs!

That's why Georgia leg squatting 350+lbs is even more impressive. Voice so tender, but those kick drums suffer.

^I can't weight any more for the shows! They really raised the bar. I am pressed to find a better band. I'm glad the shows are soon and not benched. I am very pumped! I am going to stretch out my dollars so I can see them a few times!

^Can you give me a lift to the shows? I'll bring along my curl if you dont mind!

The west coast needs real shows, not in-stores!

They're also playing a free show with Bat For Lashes this friday in Philly.

131pm - They're touring the west coast in May

"They're touring the west coast in May"

Source? Also, doesn't make sense to hit the cold spots in winter and then onto the west coast in May.

Love YLT, but the B&N in-store will be a mob scene.

At the Hollywood instore, Ira said onstage that they would be back in may.

I get it, being an intolerant prick and hating a thoughtful man is the new not being an intolerant prick and hating a thoughtful man.

Such a perfect song. Love the pleasantly dense production on this album -- every song sounds loud and quiet at the same time.
