ATP NY

I guess it comes as a surprise to no one that ATP's NYC event I'll Be Your Mirror will not return in 2013 considering last year's turnout and the problems related to the company and the venue. That said, its sad nonetheless... I personally saw some amazing sets from the likes of Godspeed, The Make-Up & Hot Snakes during my one night at the fest. Hopefully this will mean a leaner and meaner event for 2014, but I guess that remains to be seen.

Pictures from the 2012 event are here, here and here.

You mean they're not going to be playing underneath the FDR again? What a fiasco that was, good riddance indeed.

O no!!! Where will I go to see past their prime indie rockers go through the motions for one last pay day?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 4:44 PM

Bummer!! Was really hoping for MBV

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 4:47 PM

FUCK. This really blows.

enjoyed the two years I went...was hoping for MBV this year as well...best festival I ever attended

That sucks but certainly not a surprise. Turnout was pretty lousy this past year. Say what you want about the festival (and yes, it has had it's issues), it was a pretty cool, diverse, unique lineup. When every other festival is just recycling the same lineup over and over, it was cool to see atleast one company trying something different. Hopefully they will be back.

what a fiasco that was?

there's no way you were there. it was a perfect location/weekend.

Aww, man. I was really looking forward to ATP '13: Curated by Belly.

ATP is the best! i hope they come back stateside soon.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:07 PM

Never should have moved it from Asbury. Last year's venue sucked.

Big day for comment-based news!

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:10 PM

Hot Snakes under the FDR was perfect and Godspeed in that huge carpeted warehouse with couches...badass! Bummer if you werent into it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:11 PM

5:02/5:11 are 2 of the biggest morons on this fucking thread. These have to be the same types of pinheads who say that Terminal 5 is a great place to see a show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:15 PM

5:02, do you like to see shows on the exit ramps of major highways? That's what last year seemed like.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:19 PM

Were you at the show? The sound was actually perfect at last year's venue - inside and out.....

clearly you weren't there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:25 PM

should have kept it in the catskills

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:27 PM

Yes I was there last year and the sound was far for perfect 5:25. Please never ever give an opinion on sound.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:28 PM

The sound was great - the highway stage was only an issue for the comedy and Jose Gonzalez. Anyone saying otherwise wasn't there. It was a pretty good weekend. I would've been happy if it had returned there.

You have to laugh at people like 5:02/5:11/5:25. Hopefully it's all the same guy clearly having not a clue.

NYC peeps are spoiled concert goers they have no respect or care about festivals even good ones.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:32 PM

maybe hopscotch this year....

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:35 PM

I actually liked the ATPT (all tomorows pita triangles) Fest.

I heard animal collective was curating this year.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 5:53 PM

Put it back in Asbury Park!

Posted by db | February 14, 2013 8:15 PM

kinda bummed but not a big surprise. last year's rendition was probably the overall weakest in terms of layout and lineup of the 7 i've been to, but it still had some pretty awesome sets and i had a good time.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 9:18 PM

The three bands you mentioned all should have been at the grammys, not frank ocean. So it will be.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 10:02 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 10:04 PM

BOO...but does this mean no ATP events at all in the USA this year?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 11:35 PM

Go back to Kutchers or don't bother

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2013 11:57 PM

How about putting it in Miami in August, outside and no shade. I would love to see all you hipster hater fucks shrivel up like cellophane in the heat.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2013 7:28 AM

Fuck you all.ATP continues to put on the best festivals with lineups that piss from a great hight on anything else.there's really no pleasing some people.the weekends at kutsners without doubt where some of the best times I will ever have in my lifetime.whinging knobheads.what do you want from a festival?seriously
