CBGB Festival (more by Chris La Putt)
CBGB

2012 brought us a new multi-venue festival in NYC - one named after legendary NYC rock club CBGB. Well, in case there was any doubt, that festival will in fact return in 2013, but much later in the year. 2012's fest went down July 5-8, outdoor show in Times Square (and a controversial Cro-Mags show) included. 2013's will happen October 9-13, right before CMJ. Stay tuned for more details.

Meanwhile, head to Bowery Electric tonight (2/7), right near where CBGB was, to view a collection of Joey Ramone memorabilia before a set by Wayne Kramer.

Didn't they learn their lesson after last year?

8:21 - That is probably the funniest thing I ever heard.

CBGB's was such a vastly over rated part of American Music history it's a joke. Sure 3-4 seminal bands played their in their infancy. It then atrophied and rode on those limited laurels for 3 decades.

No one fucking cares. Including said seminal bands.

Paul, please go back to Iowa.

last year's "festival" sucked.

There was nothing much to support with last year's festival. The make-up for that Cro-Mags nonsense was incredible though: Sick of It All, Civ, and Backtrack. Don't need anything else.

They need to revamp the scheduling of everything for this years festival. There were too many things all conflicting with each other making a scheduling mess. Spread it out better so people can catch more than one thing per night.
