Cold Fur

Members of The Want and Rye Coalition have joined forces to become Cold Fur. The NJ quartet's clean-tone guitar takes front-and-center, mixing angular math-rock, post-hardcore and spazzy punk on the band's new LP Altamont Every Night. Look for this Albini-produced effort to hit digitally on March 5 via Cold Fur Records and later this spring in hard formats. A few songs from the LP have already hit the internet, but we've got the premiere of "Pigs On Holiday" which which you can stream below.

@11:57 don't troll and hate just because your plastic blow-up girlfriend, Dolly, left you for a surgical glove and now you have no one else to release your frustration on.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2013 11:42 PM

it's not just one band, it's a supergroup of two bands I never heard, so I can be more efficient in not caring.

Posted by not 11:57, but close | February 7, 2013 1:51 AM

didn't these 40 year old assholes run a kickstarter to get money to record with that insufferable nerd Albini? Jesus, find something else to do losers. 20+ years trying to make it in show business and nothing to show for it. smh

This site is rampant with jealous failed musicians.

"Cold Fur" sounds like a riff on "Hot Snakes". Also, i like Rye, but this sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2013 11:16 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2013 11:48 AM

@11:48 the two guys were in rye coalition, toured the world with shellac, queens of the stone age, foo fighters, mars volta, white stripes....what did you do?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2013 4:19 PM

^and made 14k a year doing it! Grow up already. At least try and act like men. These dorks probably put posters of rockers up in their bedrooms. Sad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2013 4:25 PM

Trolls and the people who feed them. Do people still think bands are trying to "make it"? Yikes. Listen to the music and shut up.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 2:32 PM

sad sad middle aged men from NJ.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 2:38 PM

they are 50? they started rye when they were 30? how is 34 middle aged?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2013 11:57 AM

never read the comments! What a bunch of morons (some of) you are!

Posted by your face sucks | March 30, 2013 6:30 PM

11:57 the average American lifespan (averaged across sexes and races) is anywhere from 70 to 78 depending upon what year you were born (1960 to present). The midpoint of that span would be 35 to 39, and since middle age is more of range you could probably +/- 5 years on either side of that. So, 34 is most definitely middle age.

Cool guys right here. if I lived till 78 I'd be pretty happy.
