All the Time

As mentioned, The Strokes' new album, Comedown Machine, is out March 26 on RCA Records. For those not sure about the album's first taste, the A-Ha-esque "One Way Trigger," the album's official first single, "All the Time," is much more what most of us were expecting/hoping for. That's the cover art for the single above (keeping with the tape-box theme of the album art) and you can stream it below.

I was hoping it'd be more dubstep. Damn.

I honestly like One Way Trigger more.

I bet most of you are not aware that this song called "All the Time" was originally titled "I Enjoy Hummus All the Time".

Judging by these comments and considering it's the BrooklynVegan message board, I'd say the overall response to this song is.... positive?

What The Strokes should have done is call it quits after Room on Fire. Then they could've reformed this year and sold out two shows at Barclays.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 4:27 PM

meh...this act ain't got shit left in the tank

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 4:41 PM

Good stuff

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 4:58 PM

This just isn't that good. I don't have any desire to listen to the song again. Ever.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 5:56 PM

They're still around? I thought for sure they'd give up after the last album.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 6:02 PM

It sounds like a strokes song....

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 6:09 PM

One Way Trigger is actually amazing after a few listens. This tune is aaaaight.

Better than I expected.

648 I like the Stroke, well at least their early music, but I've yet to hear anything close to "amazing" from them. Just cool but very derivative NYC rock n roll.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 7:37 PM

They missed the boat by not reforming as Beach Strokes.

12 years ago I was told this band was
'The Future' of music...

Greetings from the Future!

this fucking blows

Best NYC band ever. Not like the typical shit the city pours out.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 10:01 PM

BORING.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 10:20 PM

these boys are lost..

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 10:39 PM

This isn't half bad, but I sill feel bad for them. They seem to be trying this time, almost desperately so.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 11:10 PM

I'm sure most of you are unqualified to comment on these tracks in the first place.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2013 11:50 PM

anon 1001 Best NY band ever? Not these guys.
Better NY bands off the top of my head.
I've seen them all live, most more than once except for VU and The Dolls. Most of them are from the 70's. The Strokes were the best new NY band in many years when they came out.

Velvet Underground
NY Dolls
Talking Heads
Sonic Youth
Ramones
Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
Blondie
Patti Smith Group
Television
The Cramps
Richard Hell And The Voidoids
David Johansen Group
The Heartbreakers
Yeah, Yeah Yeahs
TV On The Radio
LCD Soundsystem
