Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 7:22 PM

I finally got through for the Kraftwerk at MoMA queue. It looks like all the shows are sold out.

A whitehouse.gov account is required to sign Petitions. NO.

Hey 8:23, STFU.

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:04 PM

not working

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:06 PM

Anyone see how much a download costs?

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:14 PM

Made it the digital download page- said 16 bucks. Seems like a lot for just a digital download of 9 songs, hope I made a mistake.

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:19 PM

yeah, just got to the add address and payment info, and then it crashed again. $16, but a place for promo codes... who has any?

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:20 PM

if it really is $16 then it'd be a brilliant move if they actually had the servers to handle potential sales. i can only guess how much money they're losing as it stands

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 9:26 PM

how much money did they lose tonight by the server being messed up? 100k ? 200k?

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:01 PM

finally! I got it! keep trying, it comes and goes!

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:09 PM

Posted by iloveyou forevah | February 2, 2013 10:09 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:09 PM

The vinyl will be limited due to manufacturing restrictions.

Whhaaaaaa????

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:12 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:15 PM

i am 10:09. now I wish I hadn't posted that. I went ahead and ordered the vinyl. Listening now. Even though its pricy, I do do believe in supporting my favorite artists!

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:35 PM

anyone who doesn't cough up the $$$ for this one is a total chooch

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:42 PM

But I deserve whatever I want on my own terms! I deserve to take something of value and supply nothing in return (while calling the person I took it from 'greedy')! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! Mine!

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:47 PM

cant beleev it took them 42 years to come up with this shit

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 10:54 PM

so i'm listening through all tracks on the second go round. 'new you' stands out as very poppy. great to hear bilinda's voice on several cuts. how many instrumentals are on this thing? well, I guess if it's good enough for kevin, it's good enough for me!

Posted by tenohnine | February 2, 2013 11:00 PM

turn it up LOUD, everything will b okay.

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 11:07 PM

$22 for a CD? I'll wait for a stream to decide first. It could be good, and it could also be bad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 11:31 PM

My life is complete now that I've listened to the new album. I LOOOOOOOOVE IT. <3 <3 <3

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 11:32 PM

Early verdict: amazing. Just listened to my download --- it's awesome! Sounds like Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Gin Blossoms. .

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 11:41 PM

Would rather have a new release from the iPods -- a band with REAL diversity from track to track!

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:26 AM

Embarassed to admit I actually laughed at 12:26.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:28 AM

Kevin Shields is writing a new iPods joke, it will be left as a comment sometime in 2047.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:40 AM

9:20 - there are a few promo codes for $5 off floating around... if you can't find one online they are available on specially marked packages of 16 oz sabra hummus..

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:40 AM

embarrassed to admit i stole the finest hummus from 12:28

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:52 AM

i just got mamouns to deliver a tub of hummus and bag of pita trianges and i am cranking this out my window so all of the village can hear it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:53 AM

Have had this shit on repeat, fucking amazing album!! Great to see that he could take this shit in yet another direction. That sax sounding guitar in the second track is sick. Has a glammy Roxy vibe to it. The album is getting better with every listen.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 9:53 AM

Its OK. I expected something better too.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 9:56 AM

pretty lackluster considering all the hype. note to young hipsters: you don't have to appreciate this record.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 9:57 AM

sounds like dog shit in any downloadable format of your choice

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 9:59 AM

just bought it from their site. sounds like the vivian girls made a bad album.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 10:07 AM

Vivian Girls don't make bad albums. Stupid fucking hipsters.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 10:08 AM

@10:08, only terrible ones.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 10:18 AM

Kevin! Pull your band off the pretentiousness turnpike and record this album in a quality studio. Sounds like farts.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 10:58 AM

This would have been cool in 1992.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:04 AM

Fuck you hatersd! You should all appreciate bands like radiohead, mbv, and vivian girls.

Posted by Carlos D's haircut | February 3, 2013 11:11 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:14 AM

Can someone send this to me? I want to hear it but don't have a credit card. Please!

jaredvars399@aol.com

Posted by Jared | February 3, 2013 11:20 AM

Album is gorgeous. Wavves and Vivian Girls have nothing on this. Satisfies expectations easily.

It blows King Of Limbs away easily. Not even a discussion btw.

This message board meets expectations as well. A bunch of juvenile hipsters with the attention span of mud.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:23 AM

yeah this is really good. people here are clearly of a lesser intelligence.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:26 AM

To the last 2 people making comments. Please don't feed the trolls. I can just about guarantee that the ones above saying it sucks and terrible have not actually even listened to it. That or they seriously have the worst taste in music. You know and I know the record is great and with each listen gets better.

Again, don't feed the trolls.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:40 AM

This album sounds like shit.....was it recorded in a fucking cardboard box?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 11:50 AM

Is everyone copying whatever Radiohead does now?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:02 PM

Argo is great. This fuggin sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:20 PM

11:50 Have you heard My Bloody Valentine before?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:25 PM

King of Limbs is a stellar recording. This is sub-par nonsense for stupid fucking hipsters.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:27 PM

ARGO FUCK YOURSELF

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:42 PM

Trolls are out in full force today.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 12:59 PM

I think the trolls are practically the only ones who wade through and participate in the cesspool that is the BV comments section. I guess myself included? But basically 90% or more of the comments on this site are supplied by what can only be described as miserable, nihilistic (and probably out of work) scumbags who get a real kick out of sewing chaos and diversion and who grow balls when they can post anonymously and without accountability.

All of that said, the album is quite good. I can't imagine why or how anyone could say that it "sucks." It's a sound that countless other bands have been trying unsuccessfully to ape for 20+ years, and Shields comes back out of hiding and drops it on us again and it's still as modern and spectacular and interesting and beautiful and high-tech and unique as it was in 1991.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:10 PM

like most albums/cds, half of it is good, half of it is rubbish. the fourth cut is really awful. if i paid any $ for this i would be pissed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:19 PM

1:10 is just as pathetic for getting so worked up over comments made on a website

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:27 PM

US tour soon?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:30 PM

production is shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:41 PM

Who is My Bloody Valentine?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:43 PM

Why must we be trolls for liking the album? I like Bon Jovi too. Troll here!

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:43 PM

Long term MBV fan here. Sounds half baked and unfinished. A few of the songs are ok.

None of this holds a candle to Isn't Anything and Loveless. I'm sure everyone agrees with that.

Posted by Gerry | February 3, 2013 1:48 PM

Radiohead is laughing

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 1:54 PM

this is crap yo

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:23 PM

"1:10 is just as pathetic for getting so worked up over comments made on a website"

The trolls are the pathetic ones my idiot friend. 1:10 just happens to be a person who, unlike the trolls on here, actually likes music and wants to enjoy it, praise it and discuss it. Not just be stupid about it or not even listen to it and make some dumb comment. Unfortunately the latter, the losers with no life, run rampant on here.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:40 PM

The production is far from crap. I'm guessing you are listening to it through your shitty computer speakers or ipod ear buds. Playing the 24/96 wav files through a nice stereo system sounds fantastic. Nothing half baked or unfinished about it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:44 PM

^ This. Haven't been on BV in a while and the comments are just as idiotic as ever. Yallz are some of the trolliest trolls that have ever trolled.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:48 PM

PURE DRECK

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:49 PM

"unlike the trolls on here, actually likes music and wants to enjoy it, praise it and discuss it. Not just be stupid about it or not even listen to it and make some dumb comment"

if thats how you feel, you're on the wrong site

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:51 PM

while i wouldnt compare it to isnt anything or loveless cuz ive had it for less than 24 hours and such a claim is more knee-jerk-reactionary than anything else, i would say that the quality on display here doesnt seem that far from those landmarks. i def didnt think this record would be anywhere near as good as its sounding right now.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:52 PM

Half the fun of brooklyn vegan is shitting all over artists, most of which you actually enjoy yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 2:55 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 3:12 PM

"Half the fun of brooklyn vegan is shitting all over artists, most of which you actually enjoy yourself."

If you find that type of thing fun, my suggestion is to seriously end your life because you are missing out on some real joy in this world. That comment above, made by 2:55, is the dictionary definition of loser.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 3:15 PM

I'll agree the production bugs me a little too, because Kevin stated in interviews he insists on doing the guitars in MONO as opposed to one guitar - left, one guitar - right. The songs on MBV are good, really more ambitious, but its bugs me too when it feels like everythings shoved right in the middle. Flood could have helped beef it up and add some more bass.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 6:57 PM

This droney shit? sounds like Animal Collective took too many sleeping pills and made a record.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2013 7:35 PM

Massive album!

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 12:57 PM

For fuck's sake, so many tools commenting on this shit. These guys influenced or shall we say wrote the rule book for half the crummy, third rate Williamsburg bands you're into (or are in). And they still do it a lot better while managing to keep their integrity, without all the posing and other ironic bullshit you people tend to embrace.

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 1:39 PM

In all seriousness, there's a few filler tracks on here. Seems that 21 years would be enough time to pack a recording from start to front without noodling.

Posted by VERY anonymous. | February 4, 2013 1:49 PM

^In all fairness Loveless has some filler too...Loomer? Touched?

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 2:24 PM

^ yes, absolutely... it just doesn't sound as stylized now as it did then. I think people's patience for filler, both in rock and rap, has diminished since the 90's.

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 2:51 PM

^ yea, no. Loomer was one of the best tracks on the album and touched was just Kevin throwing Colm a bone. It also had 11 tracks as oppossed to 9.

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 5:09 PM

Giant Drag have really matured artistically.

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2013 5:20 PM
