I can't believe they got Bjork!!!

they couldnt get animal collective or beach house again?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:12 AM

omg is merchandise playing? best band ever. only band that matters has ever mattered.

Posted by Pelly | February 1, 2013 11:13 AM

WOO!!! ILL BE THERE FOR BJORK 100%!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:14 AM

What's up with all the shitty festival headliners this year?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:14 AM

1114 wanted passion pit and vampire weekend lol

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:15 AM

yawn

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:15 AM

does anyone know if merchandise is playing w/ drummer? this is important. please email merchandisehotline@pitchfork.net

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:16 AM

I really want to hit 1114 for saying that right now

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:16 AM

how is Belle & Sebastian a shitty headliner you fucking twat?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:16 AM

1114b here. No how about some of the good bands on the festival circuit this summer. MBV or The Knife weren't a stretch to expect.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:17 AM

Who would think that pitchfork would get it right? Blown more away than a gloryhole at the saint vitus

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:17 AM

No Grimes?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:18 AM

R Kelly are you kidding me? How are you people excited about that?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:19 AM

You missed the MBV boat. Why do you even care to see them outside then they are clearly a loud inside band? The Knife is a good argument, but you are getting the real thing at this show ( bjork).

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:20 AM

Great headliners! Didn't see that happening by a longshot.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:20 AM

1117 both of those bands are meant to be seen inside. it doesn't get dark in chicago till after headliners start playing!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:22 AM

15,000 white people cheering and pointing at R. Kelly....ironically

This crowd looks at him as a comedy act

I mean, they booked him for this reason, right?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:22 AM

already better than Coachella

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:24 AM

The point is booking RKelly for people to ironically enjoy is a waste of a slot.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:24 AM

does ANYONE know if merchandise will be performing with or without a drummer? PLEASE!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:26 AM

1117 both of those bands are meant to be seen inside. it doesn't get dark in chicago till after headliners start playing!

>> what does that even mean ? its dark by most bands 2nd song every time I went.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:26 AM

I think you guys need to give R Kelly more credit. He better than just irony...

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:27 AM

WHY WOULD YOU EVEN WANT TO SEE MBV OUTSIDE? The novelty of saying them is that they are extremely loud.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:28 AM

Whoa! Very surprised, after last year's snoozefest.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:31 AM

When you complain about Bjork and B&S as headliners, you embarrass everyone in the room while exposing yourself as a complete a-hole. Now go sit in the corner.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:31 AM

I would stay clear of Chicago - great city, but my god , the shootings so far this year are through the roof.

By the way, any city is better than Philly! Even Akron Ohio!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:34 AM

cameraman couldn't have pointed just a little lower? would love to see me some cleavage

Chicago does have a pretty substantial black population - could be an attempt to pull in more than just the white indie crowd

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:34 AM

more like belle & suckbastian. that shit is terrible, the dude is right.

bjork, on the other hand, is primo headlining fodder. props for that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:35 AM

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Grimes.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:35 AM

is elsner playing drums w/ merchANDISE at this gig? wouldn't want to see without. exciting stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:35 AM

1134 just moved here from iowa. welcome to nyc and open your eyes a little bit more.

bafoons!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:36 AM

wouldn't be surprised if they added The Knife after the band announces their US tour dates

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:36 AM

"Who would think that pitchfork would get it right? Blown more away than a gloryhole at the saint vitus"

It figures that the first statement would just so correlate to your second. Must be sad that you can't experience all this at your intimate Glasslands GBH, but at least your anus hole will get a bit of relief!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:37 AM

Knife are only doing Europe according to there statement this year I thought.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:41 AM

The knife is just boring electronics with a wannabe Bjork singer.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:44 AM

"When you complain about Bjork and B&S as headliners, you embarrass everyone in the room while exposing yourself as a complete a-hole"

Or their standards are just much higher and they are not idiots like you and the other tools on here saying they are blown away by Bjork and Belle & Sebastian. ZOMG SO FUCKING EARTH SHATTERING

Who the fuck are you people?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:48 AM

11:48 Bjork is G-D

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:49 AM

@11:44 Ummmm. No. Way off. Next.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:49 AM

1148 listens to passion pit and vampire weekend. go away.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:50 AM

The knife is boring and they pretend to as edgy as KLF

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:51 AM

Nobody is comparing the Knife to Bjork
Nobody is saying this is an earth shattering lineup

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:51 AM

Any word of Belle & Sebastian playing around NY/NJ?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:55 AM

11:51 full of fire is probablyyyy the least boring song ive heard in a year

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:56 AM

11:48 - thanks for the laugh. Picturing your scowl as you pound away at the keys is gold!

So non-tools (such as yourself) with high standards want something more than Bjork? Who do you think is better?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:57 AM

I'd go to see Bjork headline that one night.

Full of Fire is tremendous. Can't wait for the whole album.

Fuck KLF

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:59 AM

Am I the only one who misses shows at McCarren park pool? Wouldn't it have been amazing to see Bjork play there in the heat of the summer!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:02 PM

Grimes > Bjork. ALL DAY

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:02 PM

I don't know why people expect Grimes there. She played last yeat, and it was OK. She played for free at the Logan Square Auditorium, which was insane. She is a so-called 'inside' artist. I'm ecstatic about Bjork and B&S. R. Kelly is hilarious, and I hope he does all of Trapped in the Closet live.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:08 PM

Bjork fans are truly the dumbest of the dumb shits.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:08 PM

"cameraman couldn't have pointed just a little lower? would love to see me some cleavage"

Really? Have some higher standards. That girl is a beast. Why would you want to see any more of her? Guess I should not be surprised though considering it is on a thread where people are raving about how great it is that Bjork is headlining.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:11 PM

then why are you here to defend your point if you are so self righteously intelligent?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:12 PM

R. Kelly is a fantastic singer. How do people ironically enjoy music? You are still listening to the same music.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:17 PM

1211 listens to passion pit and vampire weekend. knows nothing about good music.

kids from midwest these days.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:18 PM

What a precious bunch of headliners this is.

The idea that B&S fans find it preposterous that anyone w/taste could find them nauseating is kinda funny. Same for Bjork.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:19 PM

I spoke with a friend who knows, and he said Grimes will be announced shortly.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:19 PM

12:19 anyone with taste would know better than to categorize Bjork with anyone else.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:23 PM

@12:08- I actually think Bjork fans fall into a high education/ salary bracket.

How do you keep someone who uses the word dumb (repeatedly, in a short sentence) in suspense...

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:34 PM

"I actually think Bjork fans fall into a high education/ salary bracket"

Of course an idiot like yourself would think that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:42 PM

will r kelly take a car or just walk to pitchfork?

Posted by d | February 1, 2013 12:42 PM

12:11, she is certainly not a beast, her hair is fire atop her head, not sure how people's taste in music relate to her, but ok, you go on looking at the world with those high standards and I will see beauty wherever I look

Hope B&S play the Mike Piazza song

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:45 PM

1134 just moved here from iowa. welcome to nyc and open your eyes a little bit more.

bafoons!

1136 moved here from ohio last year.

is old skool all of a sudden.

doosh

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:51 PM

does r kelly still urinate on 14 year old girls?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:56 PM

merchandise just announced that they will have two drummers. one will be a drum machine.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 12:58 PM

12:45, that entire comment shows you to be the perfect encapsulation of a blind fool.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:01 PM

This is the best festival so far, until Osheaga announces Bjork.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:02 PM

^Please stand in traffic

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:03 PM

KLF burned a million pounds royalty cash. That's more than any current Pitchfork/BV lauded band has ever done.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:04 PM

this festival sucks every year

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:05 PM

The Knife is so edgy

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:08 PM

omg cant wait for merchandise set w/ drummer. best band forevs <3

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:10 PM

R. Kelly has raped his way through half of Chicago's teenagers.

Classy booking P'Fork.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:15 PM

R Kelly? Why?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:19 PM

R Kelly > Blur + Stone Roses

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:22 PM

So for the record merchandise IS using a drummer?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:29 PM

For the record, the only reason why this festival is good is because of Bjork.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:34 PM

well what I like is that these headliners wont be the same you see at every other festival. We know all three wont be on Coachella or Lollapalooza or Governors and probably not Bonnaroo... that in itself is a feat.. because you know the crossover of headliners from all the yet to be announced festivals will be nauseating

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:42 PM

For the record, the only reason this festival and Pitchfork, for that matter still exist, is because there are morons who think Bjork is good.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:42 PM

1:42 You can still pull out Passion Pit tickets for MSG

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 1:45 PM

will r kelly urinate on bjork?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 5:59 PM

i laffed at 5:59

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 6:28 PM

eye laft at 7:53

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 7:52 PM

iPods

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 7:53 PM

church whip will be collaborating with r kelly during this set as part of their "statutory raping the midwest" tour

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 7:59 PM

7:59, the statute doesn't apply here since you are asking for it

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 10:41 PM

I'd love the see the Ipods play -- a band with real diversity from track to track!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2013 11:39 PM

^ that is damn funny right there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 2, 2013 3:12 AM

Just split my ass open laughing at 11:39pm.

I just watched this amazing new Pitchfork documentary on the Glasgow indie rock band, Belle and Sebastian. It spotlights the history of the band and their seminal work, 'If You're Feeling Sinister'.
