Team Spirit

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day as you may know. Some folks really enjoy this chance to finally say I love you to that special someone in your life. Others take a more cynical view, echoing the sentiments of Team Spirit's new EP, Love Is For Suckers, which will consists of five garagey covers of classic love songs, mostly '60s pop, but also Meat Loaf's "I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)." The EP will be a free download on Valentine's Day but you can stream the whole thing right now, below.

Meanwhile, Team Spirit, the band fronted by former Passion Pit member Ayad Al Adhamy, are readying thier first official release for VICE/Warner Bros. It's a five song EP, out April 9, and you can stream "MRDR It's OK" from it below and check out the very NSFW animated video for "Fuck the Beach."

Team Spirit have a few tour dates coming up, including a stint opening for The Joy Formidable (though not in NYC). All tour dates are listed below.

I met ayal al adhamy a few years ago when he was looking for a studio space to inhabit to make his music. the guy was one of the biggest douchebags I have ever met. He gave me the most lowball offer I have ever seen in the music industry. He wanted me to move out of my studio space so that he could live and work there and pay me less money than my landlord charges me for rent all so that I could have the honor of having a member of passion pit (mind you a guy that doesn't even play on the records) in my vicinity.

This guy is the worst of the worst. I wish this guy nothing but failure.

This is epic if you weren't around to the spring that Aerosmith Rocks and Kiss Destroyer dropped weeks apart. THAT shit was epic, and made for a great summer. This? Not so much.

Huh, interesting. Listening to the lyrics, you could say that this song is about Jesus or a girl, or even both. He says "but where were you?" and "save me, save me" as if he feels let down by Jesus, but still wants to be saved by him. But later It seems as if he's telling some girl how fine she looks and telling her to "save" him. The songwriter seemed to want to portray a state of confusion of whether to rely on spiritual or earthly desires to "save" him from whatever his situation was.
