The Men at Saint Vitus in 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro//BBG)
The Men

As mentioned, Brooklyn rockers The Men are set to release their fourth album, New Moon, on March 5 via Sacred Bones. Each album by The Men has had its own sound so far, so when they revealed the first single, "Electric," it was a little surprising how much like Open Your Heart it sounded, but on their newest album cut, "I Saw Her Face," they show yet another shift in sound, coming off like the Grunge Grateful Dead or Crazy Horse-via-Dinosaur Jr. You might miss them being "more punk," but they do this sound really well too. Listen to the new song below.

As discussed, The Men will be supporting the new album with a tour, which includes a sold out record release show at Bowery Ballroom on March 7 with Nude Beach and Parquet Courts, and a just-announced Northside Festival show opening for the Greg Ginn/Ron Reyes' incarnation of Black Flag at Warsaw on June 14. Good For You and Netherlands are on that bill too and tickets go on sale Friday (2/22) at noon.

A list of all dates and the new song stream below...

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 11:43 AM

@11:32, I believe those first two comments are sarcastic.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 11:50 AM

11:32, feel that breeze above you? the sarcasm going over your head?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 11:53 AM

11:32 -- You're a fucking idiot. FUCK YOU

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 12:20 PM

finally the punks found their dad's old LPs and played along to them. too bad they didn't add anything new or noteworthy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 12:21 PM

Wow, 12:20 is mad

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 12:27 PM

Oddly enough 11:32 plays in The Men.

"finally the punks found their dad's old LPs and played along to them. too bad they didn't add anything new or noteworthy."

oh god. hating on bands on brooklyn vegan is so very original and punk rock! great song from a band that is clearly doing whatever the fuck they want.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 1:17 PM

If that pic had a sound, it would sound nothing like when The Men were actually good and with the old singer. What a total nosedive into mediocrity they've taken.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2013 1:44 PM

1:44 is exactly correct.... if you are on the fence about this listen to the lyrics. they are total shit along with the music being boring
