The Thermals in Austin in 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)
The Thermals

As mentioned, scrappy pop punks The Thermals will release their sixth album, and first for Saddle Creek, Desperate Ground, on April 16. The band just revealed their first taste of the new album with "Born to Kill," a quick, unrelenting ripper that benefits from John Agnello's thick, raw-but-clear production. You can watch a lyric video for the track and download it exchange for your email address below (via SPIN).

As mentioned, The Thermals will be touring this year and hitting the NYC area for a BrooklynVegan-presented show on March 7 at 285 Kent with Habibi and Hilly Eye (tickets) and March 9 at Maxwell's with TEEN (tickets).

Was I the only one hoping for a cover of The Damned?

Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, but that sure is a Thermals song all right.

I do not know if you guys heard of the Thermals before but they are a good indie band. And Born To Kill is one of my favorite songs by them.
