« Milk Music ready to 'Cruise Your Illusion' (stream a track) | Camera Obscura announce 'Desire Lines' ++ 2013 dates »

Whimsical NYC collective Toys & Tiny Instruments will release their long-percolating debut album, Thunder Clap Machine, on Friday (3/1). As their name implies it's serious pop music but made with kazoos, stylofones, ukulele's, slide whistles and other toys and tiny instruments. You can stream the whole thing below.
The band have a couple local shows on tap, including tonight (2/28) at The Rock Shop with Boy Girl Party and Late Cambrian (tickets). Then on March 21st they'll play Death by Audio as part of The Chris Gethard Show's "The Weirdest Bands We Know Vol. 3" with Bad Credit, No Credit, Disposable Rockets Band and Hand Job Academy. $7 at the door for that one.

Didn't Pianosaurus do this schtick back in the late 80's and early 90's? I saw them open for Alex Chilton and it was hilarious. Somehow this seems less so.

fortyver,
yeah as mentioned before, it is very pianosaurus though T&TI are different style songwriters (less power pop).

By the looks of their abundant energy, it's safe to assume they are all high on Phyto-Nutrients.

I opened the dictionary and my eyes fell on the word "Fail". Based on the definition provided, I tried to imagine an image that would capture the essence of the definition in a simple, poetic manner.
In my wildest dreams, I could not have constructed a better picture than that promo picture above.
You guys totally nailed the fail.
