New Williamsburg honky tonk style Country-and-Western bar Skinny Dennis opens tonight in the old Barberry / Zipi Zape space (corner of Berry & Metropolitan) with live music from Jason Loughlin Trio, and Austin McCutchen with the Velvet Bonebreakers and a two-hour open bar. Free, 8 PM.

Also in Williamsburg tonight at Cameo is Tippy Toes, the live electro/house band that features a number of DFA musicians. Reggie Watts has been known to perform with them in the past. Usually a good time. Tickets are still available.

Like funny stories? You can see Mara Wilson of Mrs. Doubtfire fame, plus DC Benny, Jonathan Schnapp and more at "Tom Shillue's Funny Story" at Brooklyn Brewery; or Dave Hill, Dana Rossi and more anecdoting it up at "Here's the Story" at East Village's 2A.

This reminds me a lot of some of Zappa's synclavier compositions. Very cool.
