Full of Hell at Acheron, November 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
Full of Hell

Metal is looking trimmer than ever this year in Austin, but luckily there are still quite a few exciting shows to look forward to at SXSW 2013. Here are a few of them. Have fun out there, and come see us at one of our many shows this week in Austin! (With one more still TBA.... keep your eyes peeled to the site on Thursday at noon.)

As mentioned, if you can't make it to Austin then you can still stream all of the Invisible Oranges showcase in full HERE!

My SXSW metal picks are below...

Skeletonwitch at the BV CMJ cruise, 2011 (more by Jonathan McPhail)

Hands-down favorite for this day goes to the Show No Mercy Showcase at Mohawk, not just because I'll be blessing the wheels of steel during it, but also because of the stacked lineup from front to back, including an exclusive Skeletonwitch show.

The Spits at Irving Plaza, Oct 2012 (more by Chris La Putt)

Do yourself a favor and pass on most of the regular sausage down in Austin and check out the Hosoi Bros...nothing like stupid music for smart people.

I passed on most of this, but the concert itself was AMAZING!

Nice of SXSW to let him speak on some shit. Nice of Grohl to get his record name out there for new artists to pursue their true artistic talent. The coolest record company president. It had to happen sometime.
