Chelsea Light Moving @ Birthday party in Northampton, MA (via @brooklynvegan)
Chelsea Light Moving

Thurston Moore's new band Chelsea Light Moving weren't messing around when they said they were "ready to detonate any birthday party, wedding or hullabaloo in any country, planet or stratosphere that doesn't support right wing extremist NRA sucking bozo-ology." As you may have noticed, Thurston Moore responded to BrooklynVegan comments, promising that he would in fact bring his band to detonate someone's birthday party, and this past Sunday (2/24), Chelsea Light Moving went to a basement birthday party in/near Northampton, MA (near where Thurston lives) and commenced detonation. Three videos from it are below.

Chelsea Light Moving are about to kick off their tour and will be destroying the NYC area this weekend with a show at Mawell's on Saturday (3/2) (tickets) and a free in-store at Other Music on Sunday (3/3). After destroying the rest of the country, they'll return to NYC for more on April 5 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets). Brace yourselves.

All upcoming dates are listed, along with those videos, below...

Good thing Thurston hates the right-wing conspiracy! It's so evil and bad. Freedom SUCKS! ROCK AND ROLL DUUUUDE

Pretty impressive how Thurston rolls with a video team to play DIY basement birthday party and creates a carefully orchestrated act of spontaneous destruction.....

Cities with the strictest Gun Control have the highest crime rates.
Tell Thurston to take his head out of his ass.

You can go skeet shooting with Wayne LaPierre. I'm sure Thurston doesn't want you at his show anyway..

We should probably just start giving hand guns away to people in major cities right? That will start to solve the crime. Fuck off..

Thurston looks great for a 70 year old guy. Keep rocking old man.

Thurston's gotta get Eric Gaffney involved in something up there -- keep rocking 413.

PS, who's ever been to a basement show with no beer cans on the ground...kinda creepy

CLM just detonated the shit out of the Triple Rock in Minneapolis.

He kicked over that pedestal he's been on for so long and it's punk as fuck. They're a team of badasses. Totally fierce and righteous.

He gave all the backstage beers to the crowd, which was completely tender and detonated the shit out of the barrier between them and us. It was totally real and sincere.

SO AWESOME! GO SEE THEM!!!
