Django Django @ MHOW, 3/6/2013

Django Django's popularity has had a slow, steady rise over the last 12 months. Their first U.S. show was almost exactly a year ago at Glasslands (one BV presented) and now they just finished two sold-out nights at Music Hall of Williamsburg (March 6 and 7) on their biggest North American tour yet. While the setlist hasn't changed much (or at all) since March 2012, the live show production values most certainly have. Last year, their biggest visual element was an oversized tambourine. This year, they came armed with an impressive light show using projections cast on Venetian blinds. To quote a friend of mine, "Looks dope."
If you went, what did you think? Anybody go to both? You can check out more photos from Wednesday's night show -- including some of openers Night Moves -- below.

This was an awesome show. I'm still partially blind from it.

I saw Night Moves at Glasslands (opening up for Lord Huron) this past fall and they're always great live. Django Django surprised me though. It's a great album but this live show was INSANE.

Great band, loved the matching shirts. If they put out another album as good as this one, they will be playing much larger shows...

went the first night - Night Moves were a really good opener - Django is so much fun live - the visuals were a step up from The Bowery Ballroom last year - great bunch of guys who really appreciate their audience - will see them again next time they are back
