DOWNLOAD: Wire - Love Bends (MP3)

As mentioned, Wire will release Change Becomes Us later this month (3/25)  an album of unrecorded material dating from around '79-80, right after their landmark 154 LP but before they decided to go on hiatus. (They'd start up again in 1985.) "Unrecorded" could me "not very good" for some bands, but that doesn't seem to be the case for Wire as both "Doubles & Trebles" and, especially, the just-unleashed "Love Bends" (via Stereogum) have been pretty great.

One of Wire's last recorded songs from their first era was the clausterphobic epic "Crazy About Love," but this is a much more positive take on the emotion, and is a great pop song to boot. Newman, Lewis et al. are in thrashy, fine form. Download it above or stream it below.

As a casual Wire fan, I must say that DOES look like a Wire album cover...I still think cover art makes a difference.
