it's over Johnny

How could they be so dumb? Seriously? All they had to do was revert back to their early sound and everyone would call it a "brilliant return to form!"

Fuck you all, I like it!

This is utter joy. So many delicious flashbacks to "First Impressions of Earth" - especially 'Ize of the World'

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 4:47 PM

Its been over.

Is Comedown Machine the opposite of Comeback album?

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:01 PM

Wow this is pretty much phoenix

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:14 PM

Lazy bastards.

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:23 PM

Bored of this mediocrity

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:32 PM

Cashing in on an album advance with the most minimal amount of effort possible.

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:33 PM

Why oh why is there still hype around this band??? They had one good album. One. That's it. Just one. Every album since has been mediocre at best, if not complete shit.

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 6:42 PM

Ok, the album is basically out now. So how long till they officially breakup? I give it 2 weeks.

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 10:50 PM

Whoever said this is like Phoenix is an idiot. If anything Phoenix sounds like the strokes.

Posted by Anonymous | March 18, 2013 11:33 PM

the strokes are like the opposite of radiohead, in the fact that anything they do will get TRASHED

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 12:32 AM

642 Right on the money. And I like The Strokes but they never should have been anything more than a cool local band. (Same for Interpol, YYYs, TVOTR...) This new one sounds like the last one but worse. Just play rock n roll and it would be all good.

The Strokes have the biggest dicks. I sucked off Nikolai Fraiture in the bathroom of the Kinko's in Astor Place. He came on my face and wiped his balls on my grill. His cock ruled and was big. Have also heard of some pretty diesel cocks from the other guys. I sucked Albert Hammond Jr's cock too. It was raw and good. Fab Moretti has a big hanging cock too.

Nikolai, get moose and squirrel

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 8:13 AM

Don't call it a comeback
They've sucked ass for years

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 8:15 AM

half good half awful

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 8:27 AM

Unfortunately Julian's dick is obscured by his bulbous extended over hanging ego.

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 12:03 PM

If music was color, beige would be owned by The Strokes

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 12:34 PM

there are literally no songs on this album.

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 1:32 PM

Personally i think “Comedown Machine” is brilliant. Whats the point of putting out new music if it sounds exactly the same as all their previous material? Change is a necessary catalyst for creativity and progression. come on people, have an open mind.

this is a lot better than angles. You can hear a lot of work went into it. The guitar work throughout this is pretty cool. Welcome to Japan and Chances my standouts so far, but they are all very interesting. Alot going on in most of these songs.

Posted by john | March 19, 2013 3:09 PM

>> there are literally no songs on this album

EXACTLY - the material all feels very meaningless and completely unmemorable

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 5:14 PM

Wow, how can some of you be so ungrateful? Who cares if they changed up their sound a bit, be happy that they're atleast still making music.

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2013 9:20 PM

Why should I be happy about having just wasted 37 minutes 49 seconds listening to a bowel movement?
Comedown machine, indeed.

Posted by Anonymous | March 20, 2013 5:10 AM

simply put...if this album, were the strokes first album, they would be unknown
