Low @ The Concert Hall, 3/20/2013
Low

The band was joined by the string quartet after the first 10 songs, and as string players provided gentle accompaniment to Invisible Way opener "Plastic Cup," I realized all my worrying was for naught. Low used the quartet in the same way the band uses everything: with restraint. The quartet did its best to be unobtrusive throughout the night; the most colorful moment came when the band played "I Hear... Goodnight," a track from the In The Fishtank 7 EP recorded with the Dirty Three, and the bearded first violinist Ben Russell played a deeply melancholy but rousing solo. It complemented the song without ever overpowering. - [CMJ]
Low, whose new, Jeff Tweedy-produced The Invisible Way was released this week, celebrated on Wednesday (3/20) with a show at The Concert Hall at the New York Society For Ethical Culture. After a set by the band proper, the ACME String Quartet (who also opened the show) joined them. More pictures from Wednesday's show, and the setlist, are below.

Low's tour continue's tonight with a show at Chicago's Metro. All remaining dates are listed below.

Great band, somewhat underwhelming setlist. Would have loved to hear more from Drums & Guns

Nothing against Low specifically (it is even more pronounced with Sleigh Bells or someone) but why can your average smaller touring band sell their lp's for 10-15 bucks, t-shirts for 10 or so, and all these bands who are clearly producing greater quantities (hence cheaper production per item) always go at least 20?
Well, yes, because they can. But still....

-And because these people are, uh, trying to make a living, 4:25. I don't know their situation specifically, but I know the band Low has been around for twenty years or something and are people who have children. It seems strange that people who make music aren't allowed to at least attempt to make a living.

Hi 4:25 or Mr. or Miss. Asshat as I will affectionately refer to you as. It can cost upwards of $8 to make a tee shirt. Why don't you just ask them to sit on the floor with a sandwich sign & a hat which you then drop 8 quarters into?

JEsus. Way to misread Asshat.
