Phish at their MSG NYE-run in December (more by Robert Altman)
Phish

If you're into 21st century free-spirited drug culture in major arenas and stadiums during long-winded jam sessions, and being around lots of people who like 21st century free-spirited drug culture in major arenas and stadiums during long-winded jam sessions, then you'll probably be happy to know that Phish just announced a summer tour. The tour hits the NYC area on July 10 at PNC Bank Arts Center and July 12 at Nikon Theatre at Jones Beach. Most cities the tour stops in sees the band staying for multiple-night runs, and though that doesn't happen in the NYC area, it does happen upstate at the Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center from July 5 to 7. And if you're into seeing Phish for three nights, perhaps you might be into going upstate too.

Phish's website has limited tickets available now via a ticket request period, and general on-sale begins Thursday, March 28 at noon for the Jones Beach show and Friday, March 29 at 10 AM for the Saratoga Springs shows (including a 3-day pass option). Ticket info for the PNC Bank Arts Center show is not available at the moment, but it will likely be one of those same two days (and same link).

All tour dates are listed, along with the tour announcement video, below...

"free-spirited drug culture" ha sounds like someone needs to get some.

Phish summer tour is more of a keg party these days and less free spirited drug culture

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2013 8:22 PM

Going to be some smelly concerts.

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2013 8:24 PM

So the promoter is not buying ad units

isn't jones beach where the phish bass player molested the 10 year daughter of a hell's angel member a couple of years ago?

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2013 9:16 PM

Phish fans are usually stingy with the weed.
Whenever I creep into their cypher and ask for a pull, they generally don't share. But whenever I'm at a Wu-Tang show or any other concert for that matter, heads always pass the dutchie in the left hand side.

Jones Beach is bizzare.

Posted by Doc | March 12, 2013 9:50 PM

Clearly BV is a paid review blog.

Posted by Anonymous | March 12, 2013 11:51 PM

Yea Phish sucks. Why listen to people who actually spent time learning music when you can listen to Waaves and Matt & Kim.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 12:04 AM

phish is awesome, shut up nyc hipsters. but no summer Southeast run, the fuck bro!?

Posted by charlestonedSCarolina | March 13, 2013 12:12 AM

Troll bait post. Move along.

No big fest this year cuz OBAMA fears the wook nation. Ron Paul would have given everyone free OxyContin, you know that dude is down for some type II jamming.

Phish will gladly take these tools' money and laugh all the way to the bank.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 10:34 AM

10:34 spot on. the way they fleece their fans is disgusting.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 10:52 AM

Sheer curiosity...am I the only one who enjoys a lot of indie bands and regularly attends Phish shows (I'm talking only three or four - not following the band around the country.)

Anyone?

Because Phish shows are awesome and quite frankly I could give a fuck if you dislike them. They put on a phenomenal live show, the atmosphere is great, and I always leave in a state of euphoria after every show. If that's not the point of seeing a live show, then I don't know what is - unless you're some hipster ass hole (plenty of those here on BV) who just want to claim that they were "there" over actually experiencing something special.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 12:43 PM

BrooklynVegan posts a constant stream of indie hipster shit aimed at their "fans" and the community can't muster up more than 5 comments.

Post about Phish "because they have to" and shit hits the fan.

Doesn't say much for what this poor blog has become.

I see Phish once a tour...that is all...that is good enough for me..I don't go further then NYC or Philly for a show..I am a lazy..pleanty to see between these two cities

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 1:00 PM

are bonita phish big?

Posted by dobach | March 13, 2013 1:00 PM

9:16 I vaguely remember hearing about that shit...I think he lured the girl onto a boat or something and her pops walked right in and immediately started stomping.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 1:15 PM

Nice to see BV condescend to readers about a great band just because it doesn't have tribal drums or tunnel plugs or a rating from Pitchfork.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 1:26 PM

12:43-i go to about 40 shows a year in the NYC area, many of them indie bands. Been a phish fan since 93 and they still blow 95%of bands out there outta the water live. Most dbags on this site are into tunes for the scene-their loss

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 2:29 PM

man i dunno what worse, the douchebags on this site or the guys who always bitch about the douchebags and say shit like 229 over there

Posted by ^^^phish fan since 93, dork since DoB^^^ | March 13, 2013 7:18 PM

Probably the biggest ones to lose out will be the vendors at these concerts because hippies don't spend any money.

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2013 7:28 PM

I have had fun at Phish concerts. I don't listen to their music any other time.

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2013 9:49 AM

LOL if you think Phish sucks then you probably are a hipster faggot named Benjamin Shapiro. that is all.

Posted by edmund fitz | March 15, 2013 1:42 AM

I prefer Sally Shapiro.

I'm sure that's what ole Ben calls himself when he's in drag soaking corks for warm PBR down at the ole Williamsburg wateringhole. I hear he is very skilled at gloryhole and mop up if you dig and I just know you do. Your horned rimed, non perscription glasses are getting all fogged up. Wrap your bike chain around that for a while.

Posted by edmund fitz | March 15, 2013 1:54 AM

come back to okc!! Please, time of my liiife!

Posted by Mahoney | March 30, 2013 11:58 AM

I am very excited for you to be back. This makes my heart sing, I love your music
