Comedian Dave Hill aka the King of Metal‘s power pop band Valley Lodge played The Explosion at UCB with him last night. If you missed it, Valley Lodge appear on stage in NYC again tonight at 92YTribeca. Know anyone in Boston? Dave opens for Janeane Garofalo at the Wilbur Theatre on Saturday.

The Orwells, who play a BrooklynVegan party at SXSW this month, are in town to play Santos Party House tonight.

BrooklynVegan Day Parties at SXSW this year will take place at the old Emo’s location, and will also feature a set by Empress Of who plays Pianos Tuesday.

If you’re still waiting for Azealia Banks to put out her debut album, but would be okay with hearing her cover The Strokes instead, you’re in luck because she recorded a cover of “Barely Legal,” which you can listen to below. You may remember she has also once covered Interpol.

Bob Mould was just in town for two shows and while here he stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform “Star Machine,” from last year’s roaring The SIlver Age. As an online bonus, Bob and the band ripped through Sugar’s classic “A Good Idea.” Look for comedians Fred Armisen and Jon Glazer watching from the wings. Check out both clips below.
