Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan, who is currently on tour with Dawes, just announced his AmericanaramA: Festival of Music tour, which he'll be going on this summer. And he's tapped some pretty incredible support to go along with him: Wilco and My Morning Jacket. That tour hits the NYC area on July 19 The Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT, July 26 at Pier A Park in Hoboken, NJ, July 27 at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, and July 28 at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ. Ryan Bingham is also on all three of those dates and several others as well, and Richard Thompson is supporting on some of the other shows, but none in the NYC area. A ticket presale begins on Bob Dylan's site this Wednesday (4/24). Stay tuned for more ticket info. All dates are listed below.

UPDATE: My Morning Jacket are not playing the Jones Beach show, but they will be on the other three NYC-area dates.

As mentioned, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is also on his own tour that hits NYC for a sold out show on April 29 at Webster Hall with Cold Specks and for a Celebrate Brooklyn! show at Prospect Park on June 18, where he'll be playing a collaborative set with The Roots. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

All Bob Dylan dates are listed, along with a video of him playing "Tangled Up In Blue" with Mark Knopfler at their 2012 Barclays Center show and the tour flyer, below...

love dylan but that video sounds more like the cookie monster

HAHAHA I Love the comment above - Cookie Monster! Amazing call
Dylan should've stopped performing many years ago. He's never had much of a voice, but in hs late years he just puts on a disastrous performance. He's been nothing but a novelty to see in concert since the mid-80s

Having a show for the whitest of the whitey white people in Camden, great idea

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:07 PM

^ waterfront area is super white. it's all philadelphia / south jersey people anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:10 PM

Camden always has white-people concerts. The venue is literally across the water from Philly.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:37 PM

That's a great bill. And I can leave early, assuming Dylan goes on last. I respect Dylan, but he sounds awful live these days.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:40 PM

I greatly enjoy seeing Dylan live these days. And hearing him too. Whaddayaknow.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 12:09 AM

Dylan is the weakest part of this tour. MMJ/Wilco is a great bill.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 12:15 AM

Best there is.

Bob Dylan should be the opening act, he sucks now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 2:05 AM

Bob Dylan is and always will be culturally significant.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 2:26 AM

What'll be revealed today?

Posted by Weebledoe Proctor Pines | April 22, 2013 2:31 AM

doesn't dylan have security that keeps the opening bands away from him at all times?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 6:36 AM

Jones Beach books the shittiest concerts consistently. Been there once. Never again.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 6:54 AM

6:54, thats because Live Nation books there. They don't get the good bookings in NY anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 7:19 AM

2:26 - I agree. There's no doubt of his cultural significance and his contribution to music and to American culture as a whole.
But with that said, he is awful live. Hard to watch.

Joke's on the opening bands and the audiences. I heard that the reason for the extra "A" in the tour name was to hint at Dylan's new direction. My source told me that he is also adding an "A" to electric...and a "O" and an "N"!

Posted by Syscrusher | April 22, 2013 7:57 AM

Check out these refixed lyrics that my source spotted in his diary:

"They call me Bob Electronica...Fuck that, call me Bob Elechannukah, Bob Elecyarmulke. You may call me anything but no matter what you say, you still gonna have to serve somebody. Well, it may be the Devil and it may be the Lord, but you're gonna have to serve somebody."

Posted by Syscrusher | April 22, 2013 8:01 AM

^ dumb as fuck

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 8:06 AM

Dylan puts on a good show these days if you stop expecting him to sound like he did 40 years ago. His style has changed. I'd like to see you put in over a hundred shows a year when you're post 70.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 8:09 AM

Dylan's website mentioned Clarkston, MI on July 14, but it's not listed above.

Posted by Andrew Kruczek | April 22, 2013 8:20 AM

8:06- I don't know, man. My source was Joni Mitchell. You know what the legendary Q-Tip said about her, right? Sadly, he never said the same about Bob Dylan.

Rather have Wilco at Wellmont again...they prob will get 60-75 minutes..

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 9:05 AM

Well we all know that D won't go see him in Camden

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 9:06 AM

They should just have Tweedy and James sing all of Dylan's stuff. They can just wheel Dylan out on stage and play organ or whatever he does nowadays and have the other guys trade off on vocals.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 9:12 AM

Wilco's official website also lists a July 21st date at Saratoga Springs at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (don't know who is there of the possible performers)- it's listed up on Wilco's website-
http://wilcoworld.net/#!/shows/
I'll be at Toronto for sure. For me this is about Wilco, first & foremost, but almost as great is Richard Thompson. Dylan is hit & miss these day & one hopes for a good night, & MMJ is OK & I hope they do more for me live than they've done for me in the past (don't hate them, just less excited about them)...possible that I might do Darien Lake on 7/18, but...I hate the venue, it depends on how long Wilco's sets are & who's playing that day at the Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, NY.

Posted by John C. Link | April 22, 2013 9:21 AM

Really wish Richard Thompson was on the bill for the NYC area dates.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 9:26 AM

Take my money.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 9:46 AM

To get tickets to Hoboken Pier show is going to be impossible. Why don't they cancel that and have it at Liberty Park in JC instead?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 10:03 AM

At 9:08am on April 21, 2013, the NYPD announced that Park Slope had been covered in a deluge of semen after this tour was announced. Whole Foods has temporarily suspended construction of its Gowanus location to assist in the recovery efforts and survey the area.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 10:05 AM

I heard Park Slope was jizzed, I mean jazzed about the tour. I hope JJ wears the cape.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 10:27 AM

better than going to the Wilco "festival"

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 10:45 AM

Jim James playing newport folk fest on the 27th...MMJ playing jones beach on the 27th...

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 11:01 AM

aaaand MMJ isn't playing the Jones Beach show

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 2:29 PM

2:26 - Correction, he WAS culturally significant. Thirty years ago. He's been lazily cashing in on that distinction ever since and has done absolutely nothing to merit the free pass he still gets from the music press.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 2:46 PM

Bob, please come and see us in UK sometime this year ;-) xx

Posted by Ruth Watkin | April 22, 2013 3:35 PM

2:46 - His large and dedicated fan base would wholeheartedly disagree. I traveled extensively last year following Dylan around, and he's still fresh. Musicians like Dylan transcend time.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2013 4:16 PM

^ that is the saddest thing I've read all day

Posted by D | April 22, 2013 5:35 PM

A great bill, obviously, but frankly, I'm glad the three-headliner festival is not coming to my area (Raleigh) because that leaves the possibility that MMJ and Wilco will play here on their own - with full headliner time slots - in the late summer/fall.

Posted by Will | April 22, 2013 8:55 PM

Dylan doesn't give a damn what you think.

So why say anything at all? Kinda goes against your brilliant comment about the terrible moral quandary you found yourself in when contemplating killing an ant, doesn't it? Thanks for feeling compelled to share your ant experience with us, by the way. It was so deep and moving. Life-changing, really.
