Country music legend George Jones died today in Nashville after being hospitalized due to fever and irregular blood pressure. He was 81. Jones' long recording career began in the mid-50s and included more than a dozen #1 hits such as "White Lightning," "She Thinks I Still Care," and "He Stopped Loving Her Today." Many of his biggest hits ("Golden Ring," "We're Gonna Hold On") were with Tammy Wynette with whom he was married for six years. George lived the life he sang about and his '70s hard-partying days earned him the nickname "No Show" Jones from the amount of gigs he never quite made it to. But his legacy lives on through his undeniable body of work. Rest in peace, George.

Ye will be missed. "Milwaukee, Here I Come" will always be a personal favorite.

George Jones dies and there are 3 comments. And yet... Lana Del Rey or LCD would get over a hundred. A perfect illustration of why the typical BV visitor is a clueless, fatuous, trendy, superficial, 20 something shit bird.

George Jones- so much much better than Johnny Cash. He could actually sing. I like George Strait too.

One of the greatest songs in 'country' history -- and no one could've done it justice like George. I'm sorry, but people who would dislike this just don't get it. Their loss.
