Fleetwood Mac (Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood) are back this year and are currently on an extensive tour that stopped in NYC for its first area show last night (4/8) at Madison Square Garden. They, not surprisingly, played more from Rumours than any other album, with huge hits like "Dreams," "Don't Stop," and "Go Your Own Way," in addition to some of its much-loved non-singles like "The Chain" and "Never Going Back Again." More interestingly, the album they tapped into second most was Rumours' "weird" followup Tusk, which has gained much of the credit it deserves over the years.

They also played a new song, "Sad Angel," which will appear on the band's new EP. Consequence of Sound points to a video of the band playing that song at their Philly show (4/6) where Lindsey said the EP would be out "in a few days." That video and the full setlist, pictures, and a video from the MSG show are in this post.

Fleetwood Mac's tour returns to the NYC area two more times this month for shows at Mohegan Sun on April 20 and Prudential Center on April 24, and after heading around the rest of the country, makes one more stop for their big outdoor show at Jones Beach on June 22. Tickets for all three of those shows are still available.

God damn, that's an awesome setlist.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 10:52 AM

How long did they play for? Did they go right on at 8pm?

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 10:53 AM

Played from about 8:25-11:00. Sounded great all around.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 10:59 AM

Played over 2 hours. Great show. Went on at 8:20. The garden really let people close to the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 11:01 AM

It was about 8:20 to 10:50. Good show.

Great setlist; still overpriced.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 11:19 AM

Overpriced, but I got a good seat for 60 bucks and the show was great. Thinking of hitting Jones Beach now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 11:50 AM

@10:43, 10:59 and 11:01 are dunces

@11:50 has it about it right

great show, especially the Tusk interlude and the stretched-out Gold Dust Woman outro. The quartet line-up accentuates their strengths, since they don't have to keep slowing down for the Christine McVie songs. This way Buckingham plays a lot more guitar.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 1:39 PM

all tours are cash grabs...

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 2:05 PM

Add 1:39 to the list of dunces. Moron, you obviously never saw Fleetwood Mac live with Christine McVie. She is sorely missed and this is why this tour and the last suck balls.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2013 2:06 PM

You're an idiot if you think Christine McVie added anything to the band other than vocals on a few good songs. Last night was fantastic.

"You're an idiot if you think Christine McVie added anything to the band other than vocals on a few good songs. Last night was fantastic."

Seriously I cannot stop laughing at this comment. So this is the clueless readership of this site now? Unbelievable

The new songs were great, especially Sad Angel. Also the long guitar intros to Tusk, Go Your Own Way and Second Hand News.

Plus, everyone knows how MSG has the best sound of any arena - prove me wrong, let's fight grrrrrrr

They use an equalizer called a soundboard there

Worth it just to hear "Sisters of the Moon" live!

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2013 12:38 AM

barf

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2013 3:02 AM

wait. how the hell are they playing "I'm So Afraid " without Christine?! Not cool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2013 6:28 AM

The only key ingredient missing - cocaine.

Posted by Anonymous | April 14, 2013 1:54 PM

It would have been nice for them to introduce the second drummer hidden in behind the speekers

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 8:48 PM

boring show. waste of money.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:15 PM

I don't like The Grateful Dead either.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 10:17 PM

Green Manalishi is by far the greatest Fleetwood Mac song ever released. It's too bad that 99.6% of their "fans" have no idea about the genius of one Peter Green
