As mentioned, Moogfest is taking 2013 off and will return in Spring 2014 in Asheville, NC. There will be, however, another festival in Asheville filling its old fall time period this year: Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit which will happen from October 25 - 27. (It's also run by AC Entertainment who were, until recently, the producers of Moogfest.) The initial inaugural line-up has just been announced and it's pretty impressive: Nine Inch Nails AND How to destroy angels_, the newly-reformed Neutral Milk Hotel (their first show back, and an evening that includes opening sets from Daniel Johnston and Half Japanese), Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Animal Collective, Disclosure, Bosnian Rainbows, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Gary Numan, Chromatics, Rustie, Jessie Ware, Zola Jesus & JG Thirlwell, Tricky, Jacques Greene, and The Bug.

Weekend passes to the fest go on sale Thursday, May 2 at noon EDT. Flyer below...

when the f**k are NIN going to announce a regular date in NYC?

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2013 10:15 AM

10:15 when they start announcing regular shows anywhere. festivals now, solo tour later.

10:09 -- Agreed on the crowd BN & PL attract. But Pretty Lights is a true artist making that old-school/new-school, analog-electronic futuristic vintage & fresh, classy fucking hip-hop soul disco shit.

oct 25th is before oct 22? this is not neutral milk hotel's first show back. if you went and read your own post bv, you would know that.

10:39 if they did read their own post, the would also realize one date is listed in 2012.

Going to be a total shitshow when they try and accommodate 8,000 NMH fans in a 2,500 capacity venue. Good luck.

DJ Koze's new album
Haxan Cloak
Andy Stott
Apparat
Burial
Motor City Drum Ensemble
John Talabot
Disclosure
Julio Bashmore
Mosca
Duke Dumont
Machinedrum
Chris Malinchak

Blawan
...and many many more artists that take a giant shit on PL

So I guess it's safe to assume none of these bands will be at Voodoo, lol

Wait so where do I buy tickets?

Posted by Caleb | May 6, 2013 11:40 AM

Moogfest '12 was good, hopefully Mountain Oasis and´╗┐ Moogfest '13 will be even better (better "focused" security, more bands, less conflicts, more days/sets, no sitting down whilst listening to Andy Stott)
