Pharrell

As you know, Daft Punk just dropped their new single, "Get Lucky," which features Pharrell and Nile Rodgers. If you've somehow managed to not hear the song yet, you can stream it below.

Meanwhile, Pharrell will be in NYC TONIGHT (4/19) at House of Vans for a free (but "sold out") show at the venue. Talking to VIBE about the show, Pharrell said:

"The concert is going to be electric. I'm going to give the crowd something they're never going to forget. There is this song that we just dropped, so you may see something extra special."
Hmmm.

We heard Daft Punk were in California for Coachella last weekend, but we're not positive of their whereabouts right now. Who knows, maybe we'll Get Lucky?

I am going to this show tonight and was thinking about that yesterday...

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:20 PM

Highly doubt Daft Punk will be there. Maybe Nile Rodgers will show up to play. Don't get your hopes up.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:21 PM

god, daft punk are the most overrated hot dogs in history. who cares. now bring back my girls.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:22 PM

i don't think anyone EXPECTS daft punk to show. but that shit would be the end of brooklyn as we know it.

if you weren't there, you'd have to leave the borough by sundown saturday

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:22 PM

Who the fuck is Daft Punk?

Posted by JT | April 19, 2013 1:23 PM

@1:22 if you are not being sarcastic then you need to have the stupidity water boarded out of you

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:25 PM

125 its weird when you put a time marker and there are several comments from that moment in time, and no one knows who you're talking to.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:29 PM

I think he's going to give me 10 bucks. Honestly, if he did I'm sure I'd never forget it. "Remember that time that guy gave you 10 bucks at a concert? Of course I do!"

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:31 PM

No way in hell daft punk is gonna appear.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:36 PM

he'll at least do the song and that'll be cool

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:36 PM

Did anyone get a confirmation e-mail for the event tonight?

Posted by Evelyn Waugh | April 19, 2013 1:37 PM

Song is decent, but could easily end at under 3:00. 4:08 is a bit much for the same repetition.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:38 PM

@137 everyone i know got denied (20+ people, and we all got in there really early on)

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:39 PM

"If you've somehow managed to not hear the song yet," - Please, most people could care less. Nile Rodgers has done nothing of note since producing Bowie and The B-52's 20 years ago.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:42 PM

'extra special' really means live back up singers.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:43 PM

did anyone get confirmation for this event or if you just rsvp'd then youll be fine?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:51 PM

got a confirmation email w my name and a +1

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:51 PM

i was enjoying the past few years of not hearing anything by pharrel and now this happened. teaming up with daft punk makes it that much worse.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:54 PM

Anyone have an extra, or a +1??? I got denied. I'll pay, buy beers, whatever!! Please???

Posted by pat | April 19, 2013 1:54 PM

Whoring yourself out for possible Daft Punk? Lame (2nd) @1:54.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 1:57 PM

will buy more than yr beer

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/3753546053.html

and confirmation/denial emails went out - so if you didn't get anything, you probably got denied. check your spam.

daft punk can't play house of vans - place is too small, and as a result people will realize that they're not doing anything behind their setup but turning knobs like avicii. they need at least 100 feet of distance between them and the first row for the act to work.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:01 PM

is Pharrel or Daft Punk even relevant in 2013? and WTF with him playing HOVs. Lets get some rock N roll up in that joint.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:04 PM

lip sync for your LIFE

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:06 PM

Are people really trying to buy tickets to this show because they stupidly think Daft Punk will show? If you really want to waste your time, just go Vans tonight and give your name. When they say it is not on the list, just raise holy hell. Lots of smart people do that and they always end up letting you in if you make enough of stink. There are always people who show up who have an unused +1. These free things are easy to get into if you did not get a confirmation.
Unfortunately then you have to deal with the depression realizing you are a fucking loser for showing up to a Pharrell show without Daft Punk showing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:08 PM

Hey @1:17, fuckboy, posting under anonymous is lame. I'm trying to see Pharrell b/c he's one of my favorite artists. I think the cost of a few beers is worth it.

Posted by pat | April 19, 2013 2:11 PM

What. Time. Does. Daft. Punk. Go. On. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:14 PM

I RSVPed a few weeks ago but never got a confirmation. did people who got confirmations get them today or the day they RSVPed?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:15 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:18 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:18 PM

Posted by pat | April 19, 2013 2:19 PM

He's going to interview Nardwuar live. Be there or be Manitoban.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:21 PM

I am seriously looking forward to when everyone gets tired of daft punk and they just go away.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:21 PM

Daft Punk is playing at Vans House.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:23 PM

I just saw Thomas Bangalter on North 6th..

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:31 PM

"daft punk can't play house of vans - place is too small, and as a result people will realize that they're not doing anything behind their setup but turning knobs like avicii. they need at least 100 feet of distance between them and the first row for the act to work."

i know you were trolling, but really . that's true.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 2:36 PM

So if i didnt get a confirmation dont bother going?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 3:05 PM

@2:23 love it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 3:08 PM

You couldn't pay me enough to go see this dopey show. Daft Punk some make fun music but will someone explain the big deal about them?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 3:20 PM

Well daft punk is playing at my house, my house

Posted by James M | April 19, 2013 3:27 PM

3:20, well you see, they sing with robot voices. And they dress up like robots. And they're French. Do you understand now?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 3:32 PM

"So if i didnt get a confirmation dont bother going?"

not unless you wanna waste your time!

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 3:41 PM

332 320 here. No. They seem like the electronic version of Kiss. 327 Yeah, real original.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 4:21 PM

I just saw Thomas Bangalter at Mamouns. He ordered a rather small side order and dipped the pita triangle in a rather dainty fashion.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 4:23 PM

just get two dudes in leather jackets wearing the helmets onstage acting like they're pressing buttons - guarantee no one will know the difference.

everyone will go home pissing their pants and telling their friends they saw daft punk

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 4:56 PM

SPOTTED OFF MESEROLE, ITS ONNNN LAWKEJFKLAWJEF

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:00 PM

3:20/4:21, the only difference between KISS and Daft Punk is that Daft Punk fans actually get laid (well, some of them, as opposed to KISS fans which would be none of them), and girls actually like their music.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:13 PM

oh lawd.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:14 PM

5pm..................

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:16 PM

513 I don't know any women who are into DP. Maybe I'm too old. It's also hard for me to believe any of the idiots who post their stupid "What time does..." or hummus etc jokes ever get laid.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:50 PM

would make sense. then coachella tomorrow w/ phoenix?

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 5:55 PM

Daft Pink is playing a in van on the Brooklyn Promenade.

Posted by MC SCAT CAT(!_ | April 19, 2013 6:30 PM

ALL THE GIRLS STANDING IN THE LINE FOR THE DAFT PUNK

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 7:10 PM

5:50, 5:13 here. My statement was more about KISS fans not being able to get laid, than it was about Daft Punk fans having that ability.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 7:52 PM

daft punk is playing tonight i was in line and saw them walk inside so all you guys go fuck yrselves

Posted by mooooooooooo | April 19, 2013 8:07 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 9:52 PM

Didn't happen. Dope.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 10:57 PM

Daft punked

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 11:00 PM

that was the most awkward show i have ever seen. and i was watching online

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2013 11:10 PM

was there, it was awk. played get lucky 3x but the crowd wasn't really into it. half the show was a glorified dj set.

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2013 12:28 AM

What was the special surprise? Just hearing get lucky? Lol

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2013 7:41 AM

Hearing him play it 3 times in a row. Taking a page out of Jay-Z and Kanye's book. Who actually enjoys that?

Posted by CJ | April 20, 2013 9:34 AM

I'll be honest - hearing that song play three times in a row was annoying as hell. Kind of killed the track for me.

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2013 11:51 AM

didn't do 'everybody nose' - all respect lost

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2013 12:28 PM

saw the video...awful. dude seems convinced it's a mega hit and treats it as so before the record's even out. boring shit.

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2013 5:51 PM

If all of you wanted to see daft punk, you sould have went to james murphys house. I heard they played there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2013 12:49 AM
