After Phoenix stopped by Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday (4/5) for a surprise, free show, they headed to Saturday Night Live last night (for their second time) to perform three tracks from their new album, Bankrupt!, "Entertainment" and "Trying to Be Cool"/"Drakkar Noir."

Phoenix's tour brings them back to the NYC area for shows on May 12 at Susquehanna Bank Center with Passion Pit and others (tickets), May 13 at The Apollo (sold out), and October 2 at Barclays Center with The Vaccines (tickets).

lip sync and backing tracks.

Undeniably a good drummer, but he's no Sebastian Thomson (Trans Am) or Paul Quattrone (Modey Lemon) who kill the drums while managing not to look like some idiot that would serve me coffee at some shitty Grumpy's coffeehouse establishment.

what are you in high school? who gives a crap what they look like if they're killing it?

God that was awful.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2013 3:41 PM

totally lip sync-ed. Lame.

It's a vocal effect, not a lip-sync. Check out the pedals at his feet.

That drummer was amazing! Couldn't take my eyes off him.

He's singing along to pre recorded vox on the track. Drummer is the best guy in the band and he's not even IN the band. That second song was awful and should be a b-side at best.

Lame ass pop for the dbag set.

the doubled vocals just make it sound kinda bad! why do that when he has a pretty good voice? yeah and the "cool" song is pretty stock for an album that took 4 years to write

so did

That drummer needs to kick the rest of the guys out of the band and find new talent who are at least in the same universe as him.

aren't frontmen supposed to have at least a LITTLE charisma?

Bonjour Vegans des Brooklyn! Je suis le drummer, et j'adore les comments.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2013 1:16 PM

it looked like the band kept laughing/smirking at each other. seemed kinda lip synched unfortunately.

That drummer kicked could inspire anyone to learn to play the drums. What band does he play for? Totally agree about level of charisma from front man.Felicitation mon ami incroyable!

people, there is no vocal backing track on this song. Its a TC helion vocal doubler. Its his trademark vocal sound.
