Power Trip at Acheron last night (more by Lukas Hodge)
Power Trip

Crossver thrash crew Power Trip (with drummer Chris Ulsh in tow) played a late night show at Acheron last night (4/19), with support from Brain Slug and Altered Boys. The show was a stop on the incendiary live band's current tour, one that will take the Texas residents to the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest this weekend. More pictures from the Acheron are available at InvisibleOranges.

Speaking of impending NEMHCF related shows, don't miss Black Breath with Mutilation Rites and White Widows at Knitting Factory on Saturday (4/20), part of a weekend of dates. Tickets are still available.

As a fan from TX, I first saw this band at SXSW Death Trip or whatever they call Converse had @ Scoot Inn. This band was amazeballs.

This band is too hard for bv readers.

This band is too soft for BV readers. Like a gentle mash up of Leeway and Buddy Holly.

now look for southern lord to sign 700+ bands that sound exactly the same.

^Look for? Dude, they already started doing that a few years back. they pretty much went from being a "epic/dark/doom/kult" metal label to more of dark, crusty metal tinged hardcore. It makes prefect sense since Mr. Anderson at Southern Lord was a diehard hardcore kid when he was a wee lad of 17.

Survival of the streets, jerks.

These pussies are exactly what's wrong with music these days. Fucking weak ass hipstercore

Oh please Greg Anderson ditched hardcore many years ago and is only trying to cash in on the resurgence of it.

Once his band Brotherhood broke up he vanished like so many people did 1989-92 in favor of alternative rock, grunge, techno, etc. which is cool but don't come back to hardcore two decades later, shit's weak, you're weak. You left it, you can't come back.

Southern Lord has nothing to do with hardcore whatsoever.

So you're buddies with Greg, huh? You know him personally? SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Who cares if he did other types of music. Are dudes supposed to be one dimensional like yourself? You probably like Sick Of It All still, right? Again, just SHUT THE FUCK UP you stupid nimwit
