The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones have announced a new set of North American dates booked for May/June, that include stops across the continent. So far the Northeast is in the band's sights, but no NYC date thus far. But there is plenty of room in their schedule for one.

The tour, titled "50 & Counting," will celebrate five decades of the Stones, and will include Mick Taylor, a member from 1969-74, as a special guest on all dates.

The band will treat their generations of fans to an evening of classic Stones hits like 'Gimme Shelter', 'Paint It Black', 'Jumping Jack Flash', 'Tumbling Dice', and 'It's Only Rock 'N' Roll', curated with lesser known gems, and a cover or two.

The stage design for the tour is based on the band's ubiquitous tongue and lips logo, which extends out into the crowd, allowing the Stones to interact directly with their audience. Known for their ground-breaking sets and use of cutting-edge technology, the Stones' set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones' show.

All tour dates are listed, along with video, below.

Mick Taylor will also replace Jeff Hanneman in Slayer, once the Rolling Stones tour is over. Rocker gotta live.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 10:53 AM

These prices are fucking retarded!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 10:53 AM

They never said they were done touring... They're not even saying that now...

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 10:54 AM

"^ grrrrrrr. angry old man! geritol go down sideways this morning?"

Clearly one of the trolls who was so sure The Stones were not going to be touring.

@10:54

Go do a search on here for the Stones shows back in December. You can see comments from a bunch of the know it all fools on here who were telling everyone there was no way they were gonna tour, those shows were it etc etc.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:07 AM

@11:03-another one of the angry know it all trolls butthurt

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:09 AM

Touring = $$$

If you thought they weren't going to tour, you've missed how they've been doing it for the last 30 years.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:11 AM

"If you thought they weren't going to tour, you've missed how they've been doing it for the last 30 years."

^^this. i also don't get the really angry dude who seems to come into bv threads just to start shit - don't you have better stuff to do? you have been running especially rampant this week.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:15 AM

@1109 orrrrrr possibly a normal person that read the hate-filled opening comment to this post and wondered wtf? possibly.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:17 AM

Angry BV Commenter needs a handle, in more than one sense of the word.

Posted by D12 | April 3, 2013 11:19 AM

Will NYC show be added at Yankee Stadium?

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:21 AM

"i also don't get the really angry dude who seems to come into bv threads just to start shit - don't you have better stuff to do? you have been running especially rampant this week."

It is not just one guy. There are lots of angry people running rampant in the threads here just like there are lots of dumb people, lots of comment trolls and lots of people with plenty of time to waste. When you claim it is all the work of one person you look pretty stupid yourself.

Jus sayin.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:22 AM

11:17 describes me pretty well. I can't say that I bothered to read or remember a Rolling Stones thread from last year. The fact that 10:51 has been stewing over this for four months is both amusing and disturbing.

Posted by 10:51 (2) | April 3, 2013 11:25 AM

1111 is correct. It's all about the cash.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:26 AM

@1122 just because other people are doing it doesn't make it right. please save your hate speech for the rallies, brah.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:28 AM

one guy in particular has been doing a lot of the anger work lately round these parts, that's for sure.

you can tell because he likes to use the word 'troll' in every single post. he also has a penchant for the word 'fuckhead' and the compound adjective 'stupid fucking' i.e. 'stupid fucking idiot'

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:30 AM

@11:28 I made the comment at 11:22 and there was nothing hate filled about it. Simply pointing out a fact that just as bad as the angry commenters are the ones who think it is all one person.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:32 AM

@11:30 sounds like you have given this a lot of thought and research. Almost obsessive about it. Me thinks you need a time out from BrooklynVegan to relax. Lots of people on here use the word "troll", fuckhead and stupid fucking as well as a whole host of other words. Calm down man. There is no one lurking around the corner. Breathe.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:35 AM

@1132 you said "When you claim it is all the work of one person you look pretty stupid yourself."

that would be interpreted by most humans as a negative, forward-attacking statement.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:35 AM

^Not true. Just a statement of fact really.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:36 AM

Looking forward to a Boston or Philly road trip with my brother this summer for this. It's expensive, so what, can't take it with you, enjoy.

it doesn't take a lot of thought or research. i notice the constant use of the terms 'fuckhead' 'troll' and 'stupid fucking' in the same posts over and over because it is very off-putting to anyone with a normal human composition. i really have to explain that?

it's easy to tell who you are bc you have this certain weird sketchy/creepy/unwarranted anger that you apparently need to mix into every post, even the above.

i don't think anyone would disagree that this site would be a better place without posts like that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:41 AM

I do want to to see The Rolling Stones once in my life and with Mick Taylor is as good news as there can be at this point but I really find it hard to cough up that kind of dough..

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:44 AM

C'mon folks, we all know the person who comes into random BV posts to start unprovoked crap with other commenters has the best life, soaked in rainbows and happiness. Otherwise, he wouldn't be doing it.

I want to be him when I grow up. Then I can die unhappy.

Posted by D12 | April 3, 2013 11:45 AM

anonymous online message board fights are super badass

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:47 AM

@11:41 I made the comment to you @11:35. Now i am this one lone angry person you speak of. I can assure you I am not that person or persons but It sounds to me in all this paranoia, it is you who does not have any normal human composition.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:49 AM

any chance the stones will play nassau coliseum or jones beach.

just a long islander askin...

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:51 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:51 AM

Grrrrrr, I'm 11:41. I know who everyone is on here. It's all 1 angry guy. Grrrrrr

Get a life and get some help bro.

"the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones' show"

nothing says high-octane like a bunch of dudes in their late 60s hobbling around a stage for a couple hours.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 11:53 AM

Hopefully, the NYC shows will be multiple nights in yankee or giants stadium, that would be the only way normal people could get tkts.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:09 PM

This bunch of dudes in their late 60's hobbling around a stage for a couple of hours can blow away ANY bunch of twenty something dudes in ANY current band ANYWHERE, especially in today's lackluster lame ass musical climate.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:15 PM

^maybe true but they are lame for not mixing up their setlist with a catelog such as theirs...damn shame!

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:24 PM

1126 That's right, it's all about the cash and I'm happy to give it to them!

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:28 PM

pricier than the NY/NJ shows. who saw that coming?

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:30 PM

i'm 1141. not angry, just a shame someone feels the need to come in here and write stuff like that for no reason (referring to the first post)

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:34 PM

12:30 what are the prices?

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:35 PM

"Clearly one of the trolls who was so sure The Stones were not going to be touring."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Posted by Enigo Montoya | April 3, 2013 12:39 PM

Ticketmaster is listing two price tiers for the Chicago show: US $163.02 & US $622.95 (after fees). Yikes. I caught one of the December shows at Prudential, and it was great, but again, that's a b*ttload of cash. Nice to see them throw Mick Taylor a bone though.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:44 PM

That's insane in the brain!

Posted by Cyprus | April 3, 2013 12:45 PM

Mick Taylor should replace Ron Wood on this tour.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:47 PM

Adam Lavine should replace Mick because he's got the moves like Jagger!

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 12:49 PM

Mick Taylor! Now we're talking! 1215 Exactly! Newark was fantastic. Can't wait to see them again.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 1:02 PM

Hey Waves at Shea was going for $200 a ticket

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 1:04 PM

@104 my bad ;)

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 3:46 PM

Mick Taylor >>>>

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 4:02 PM

12:28

"There's sucker born every minute."

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 4:25 PM

I can afford it. I love The Stones. I'll have a blast! How does that make me a sucker?

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2013 5:33 PM

also the corpse of Brian Jones

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2013 8:49 AM

Cheapest seats in Oakland CA and Chicago are $170. F these guys!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2013 9:01 AM

These sods have always been greedy bastards, nothing shocking here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2013 9:53 AM

9:01pm - Get a job or a better one you whiny bitch, it's The Rolling Stones. $170 for say 25 songs = $6.80 a song. Keep in mind 25 songs from guys in their SEVENTIES.

I liked the new song of theirs I heard last year. Cool lyrics. Cool if only for the fact that they could EASILY just be an oldies revue/jukebox but they don't want to be that, they want to put out new music.
