Waxahatchee @ 285 Kent
Waxahatchee, who has been touring as a three-piece fronted by main member Katie Crutchfield, brought their tour to Brooklyn last night (4/3) for a sold out show at 285 Kent with Certain Spiders, past tourmates Modern Hut, and a solo set from Radiator Hospital. Like they’ve been doing on other shows on the tour, they played material off of this year’s Cerulean Salt and reworked full-band versions of material from her mostly acoustic debut, American Weekend. And on “Blue Pt. II,” Katie’s sister/Swearin’ singer Allison came out to sing the duet vocals that she recorded for the track on the album.
Both Waxahatchee and Swearin’ will play WBAR-B-Q at Barnard College on April 27 with Twin Sister, Roomrunner, Speedy Ortiz, and more.
