Boris @ LPR 5/7/2013
Boris

Japan's Boris finished out their second of two shows last night at Le Poisson Rouge (5/7) joining Stephen Brodsky (of Cave In) and Amen Dunes for the event. Unlike the nMonday's show (5/6) which was devoted to "classics," last night's performance focused on Flood and some of their more drone-oriented material.

Although Boris have moved on, you've got another upcoming chance to catch Amen Dunes when they play the BrooklynVegan-curated Red Bull Sound Selects show at Knitting Factory on Monday (5/13). Headliner is Foxygen and the show also has sets from LODRO and Prince Rupert's Drops. Tickets are $3 at the door for that one.

More photos from LPR and Boris' remaining "residency tour" schedule are below.

heavy show... lots of metal sludge and Wata...

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 6:29 PM

i know yall are excited and thats great but some of yall need to learn when to stop talking at a show

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 6:38 PM

One of the best shows I've seen, a good deal better than night 1. Loved Huge and 16:47:52. And Flood of course...

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 6:42 PM

Boris melted my face. Amen Dunes were pretty boring.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 6:43 PM

Except for some pasty, long-haired, D&D playing douchebag who decided to come out from his parents' basement just to scream along off-key to the lyrics in shitty Japanese during the entire fucking song. Seriously just stay home and play WoW next time

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 6:43 PM

the fact they covered MBV's "sometimes" was worth the price of admission alone.....

And then they unleashed flood!!!!

Posted by mellowmetal | May 8, 2013 6:46 PM

Wata is hot.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 7:15 PM

I have seen them twice and found them to be profoundly boring. They are sludgy, loud, and asian. Big fucking deal.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 7:27 PM

yall aint inglish

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 9:27 PM

i dug everything they played before flood. whoever kept yelling for them to "hurry up and play flood already" sucks

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 9:47 PM

Those crowd shots are hilarious.
Looks like chelsea wolf & some stoned dude.

Day 2> Day 1 but Boris really delivered on both nights. Sad if you missed this.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2013 11:55 PM

@947pm Yes, that guy definitely sucks

Posted by Anonymous | May 9, 2013 12:01 AM

Posted by Anonymous | May 9, 2013 11:17 AM

^let's hear how well you speak japanese asshole!

Posted by Anonymous | May 9, 2013 11:34 AM

heartbroken I missed this. come back soon, Boris.

Night 1 looked more like my kind of set but both nights just seem phenomenal and I hope they do this again in NYC.

Posted by Anonymous | May 9, 2013 12:21 PM

Night 2 was definitely more special--if you've seen Boris at all in the past few years you've probably seen them do Pink, Farewell, Statement and Rainbow. Angel is unbelievably good, though,.

The bassline is great on this song, especially at the beginning, but you'd never know from this performance :(
