"As most of you probably already know, Daft Punk's album was officially released for streaming purposes on iTunes. However, the official album in its physical (or more than likely downloadable) form won't be here until May 21 and there's hype to be built. That's why Daft Punk is gracing the cover of Dazed and Confused and posing with Giorgio Moroder in these stunning black and white photos.

Giorgio Moroder is an electronic music pioneer whom the duo worked with on their documentary/homage/epic track "Giorgio by Moroder" on Random Access Memories.
He is influential in the genre of disco as we know it today, which explains why Daft Punk would want to pay homage to him on this, their disco-iest album to date.

The covers and images were taken by Hedi Simane and will be featured in the June issue of Dazed and Confused which hits stands May 15." [MSTARS]

Giorgio Moroder

Possibly one of the hardest Red Bull Music Academy NYC events to get a ticket to is/was Giorgio Moroder at Cielo (a Deep Space night with resident DJ Fran├žois K and Academy participants T.Williams and Benjamin Damage also on the bill). Luckily Red Bull felt bad about about that and moved the 5/20 show to the bigger Output in Williamsburg. Tickets are still listed as sold out at the moment, but we heard they'll be releasing some more soon, and "A very limited number of tickets will be available at the door.". Good luck.

Check out a video about Daft Punk's collaboration with Giorgio, if you haven't seen it already, below...

I've been to Cielo before. They have a great sound system. But I hear Output is even better. Anyone been there? I heard there's no photography which is great but the bouncers are supposed to be assholes. Anyone care to comment?

For someone that loves electronic music as much as I do, I was let down by Output. Yes, its three blocks from my apt, which is pretty rad in itself. And, yes, they book the best talent weekly, and have custom Funktion One speakers that were tailored for the club. But, I would rather see a DJ perform in one of the various warehouse/loft/rooftop venues around Brooklyn where the sound is not as good. Like Cielo, Output has no character. The aesthetic of the venue is all metal, and feels cold and uninviting. Also, the main dance floor is really small and gets packed. Lastly, they have the WORST beer selection on earth at ridiculous prices.

I guess to answer your question, the bouncers are not assholes. They are there for damage control, but us Williamsburgers aren't used to bouncers in the first place so their presence is a little unnerving. They will fuck with you if you take a photo while in their club. I know that's a weird concept (not being able to take photos) but it's the norm in Berlin techno clubs like Berghain (if you like techno or house and haven't heard of Berghain, make it your priority to go there once in your life).

The saving grace to Output is it has a killer rooftop. I went to their first rooftop party (ReSolute threw it) a few Sunday's ago, and had a fucking blast. Expect more rooftop parties there in the immediate future.

I wish ALL venues had a no photo policy. Come for the experience. If you don't remember it, it probably wasn't worth sharing that blurry mess with your Twitter/Instragram/Facebook followers anyway.

Do they have a No Hummus policy there? Because I plan on bringing a side order in with me to enjoy during the set.

So Daft Punk will definitely be there right?

i agree, but for different reasons. no photo policy still lets you get that one or two quick snaps, which is all you really need.

I hate professional concert photographers. They are the rudest people on earth.

341pm Thanks for your input. I guess I shouldn't waste my money on this event and be on the lookout for their rooftop parties. I was really tempted to go see DJ Shadow at Output couple weeks ago but never made it.

How has 3:41's comment not been eaten alive already? Too easy?
