Kanye West

NYC festival Governors Ball is totally sold out of regular tickets, but if you weren't able to get yours and still want to go, there are still a few options. From now until Monday (5/27) at 11:59 PM, you can enter the Governors Ball Ticket Lottery. Entering the lottery gives you a chance to be selected to purchase either a 3-day pass or a single day ticket. More details on how the lottery works below.

DoNYC is also giving away VIP passes and tickets to every after party, so you can also head to their site to enter that contest too.

Ticket lottery details and festival set times below...

Governors Ball Ticket Lottery details:

We're excited to announce that we will be releasing a very limited allotment of GA tickets! In order to combat scalpers, these tickets will be available through a lottery system. The lottery registration will open now and will close on Monday night, May 27th at 11:59pm. Your entry time does not impact your chances of being picked as long as you enter during the registration period. We want to ensure that these tickets go to fans directly, so you can only purchase up to 2 tickets per lottery, and there is a lottery for single day and 3-day tickets. More info below (and scalpers, go f*ck yourselves!)...

There are 4 different lotteries you can enter (3-DAY GA, FRIDAY GA, SATURDAY GA, and SUNDAY GA)
You can only enter each lottery once, and there is a 2 ticket limit per lottery
To enter, click the link below, select a desired lottery type, and complete the registration steps.
Winners will be selected at random and notified via email on or before Wednesday, May 29th.
If you win, you will receive an email containing a unique URL through which to make your purchase. The url will only work for 48 hours so be sure to complete your purchase right away!

Haven't heard of a sadder lottery since the Hunger Games.

Well, that goes to show that NY indeed has public for a festival. Even a half baked like this one. Ny must be the only major cultural city/state in the world, yes world, that doesn't have a decent festival. You have great festivals is Sao Paulo, Chicago, California, Chile, Toronto, Lisbon, London, Madrid etc

And all this places has concerts all year round. I always said it makes no sense this explanation that NY has already too many shows and people would not pay to see in a festival bands they can see in a club. Hate or love it but festival is a completely different environment. And Im still waiting a proper festival here, without Guns, KW or KoL headlining.

What great festival is in Toronto?

Posted by Anonymous | May 24, 2013 4:30 PM

Yeah, you stupid asshole motherfucker, what festival in Toronto?

Most of the tickets sold are likely for the headliners, due to them being arena bands on their own. Kanye can sell 20-30,000 tickets, and Kings of Leon and GNR can probably come close, too.

Factor that in with halfassed music fans who just like festivals, and that's it.

@458 I disagree. People seem to be shitting on the headliners. they have a badass undercard. just hope it doesn't rain or snow or hail

Posted by Anonymous | May 24, 2013 5:06 PM

430 nxne, field trip festival, riot fest and etc.

Posted by Anonymous | May 24, 2013 5:15 PM

5:06 - Yeah the undercard is OK (could do without garbage like the Lumineers, Avett Bros, etc), but most of those bands come around NYC enough on their own to not have to put up with being trapped on an crowded island with Kings of Leon fans and the panic and disappointment that inevitably comes with overlapping sets.

I think it comes down to $ for some folks. Some people can't afford to go to tons of shows that cost $25-$50 anymore. Going to a fest and spending ~$65/day and seeing a ton of great acts is good deal for people who have light wallets?

Personally I'd rather see a show in a club, but to each their own i guess

It's a terrible schedule.

Daft Punk 2014

Why isn't Frohawk headlining? Isn't he Brooklyn raised?

This festival is perfect for teenagers and early 20-somethings from the suburbs. If you can't make the trek into the city for all of these bands when they play separately then something like this makes it easier for a decent price.

What a lame fest. The xx and Gary Clark Jr. are the only acts that I would actually be interested in seeing. We saw Kings Of Leon at that fest in Jersey City a few years back and just laughed at how awful they were! Kanye West aka Mr Kardashian will surely make a fool out of himself somehow!

Posted by Anonymous | May 25, 2013 2:19 PM

Looking at this lineup, I was shocked to see exactly how many bands were openning for Dinosaur Jr.

More tix will magically appear prior to festival.

Posted by Anonymous | May 28, 2013 11:04 PM

^ so hold out for "magically appearing" tix next week, you suggest?

Really setting myself up here, but I'm asking sincerely: Sunday only for $100 (CL) is pretty compelling right now...

to see HAIM! even if driving from south jersey!
(but seriously, any tips on acquiring?)

I can't make it to Governors Ball and am unloading my 3 day passes at face value if anyone's interested.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2013 2:52 PM

This sounds great. While a slightly different sound from these guys, it's still great. I wasn't expecting them to stay the same, that's what makes the band (like any other band) so great.
